PREVIOUSLY, SUNDAY PM: With just a few days to go before the union’s first national election since the merger last spring is completed, SAG-AFTRA today released the results of the New England local ballots. Just 6 of the 31 winners ran unopposed in this election from the region, which is the 18th of the 25 locals to be announced. Michael Proude and Vic Ramos respectively gained the local Presidency and VP, Broadcaster jobs unopposed. In balloted results, Bill Mootos defeated A.G. Wilde 517 -201 for the National Board Member spot and Tom Kemp took the VP, Action/Performer gig 472 -242 over Chuck Slavin. Others won Local Board Member positions and Convention Delegate slots. In all, 3,032 ballots were mailed out with 746 returned. That 24.60% result, which was tabulated on August 9, has been about average for the local elections so far. The National President and National Secretary-Treasurer results plus the NY and LA locals are due on August 15 with the winners expected to be announced late that night. More local election winners will be revealed over the next few days.

PREVIOUSLY, FRIDAY PM: A week from now the merged union will have its first elected National President and Secretary-Treasurer. That’s then but there are results to be had now as well. With SAG-AFTRA‘s announcement today of the winners in the New Mexico local, 17 of the 25 local elections have been now been completed. Six more locals will have their results announced before August 15 when the NY and LA mega-local winners are revealed along with the National officers. In the Land of Enchantment, only one of the 10 winners faced a balloted election with the rest running unopposed. Roy Costley defeated Cliff Gravell 132 – 66 in their mutual bid for the local’s National Board Member position. New Mexico’s local exceeded the approximately 23% return rate that this election has averaged so far with 198 or 29.51% of the 671 ballots mailed being returned.

PREVIOUSLY, THURS AM: This time next week, they’ll be tabulating the results of the National Officers race as well as the races in the big NY and LA locals but today SAG-AFTRA put out the election results from the Colorado Local. Of the 14 positions elected only one was not unopposed. Nancy Flanagan won the two-year term Vice-President’s gig over Rob Scoggins, Jr. 119 – 23. Flanagan also placed for a Convention Delegate position to attend the union’s National Convention here in LA at the end of September. Among other things that convention will see a National Executive Vice-President elected by the delegates. The Colorado local mailed out 605 ballots with 143 returned. That’s a result of 23.64%, which is pretty much the average in the local elections so far. The Colorado local results were tabulated on August 7. There will be a couple more local results on Friday and several more over the next week.

PREVIOUSLY, WEDS PM: With just a week to go until the results for the National Officers are returned in the union’s first national election since its merger, SAG-AFTRA today released the names of the Atlanta and Ohio-Pittsburgh local winners. Of the 13 winners in the Georgia city, only one was a balloted election. The rest, as has been the case in other local elections, ran unopposed. Ric Reitz won the position of local President over Clayton Landey 267 ballots to 125. The local mailed out 1,196 ballots for the election with 392 returned. That’s 32.78% return rate, up nearly 10% from the average and one of the highest of any local in this election so far. It was a much lower 19.88% in Ohio-Pittsburgh where 294 ballots were returned of the 1,479 mailed out. Like Atlanta, the Ohio-Pittsburgh local election was a mix of balloted winner and unopposed candidates. Mark Roberts beat out Rick Pfeiffer 199 – 78 for the two-year term National Board Member position. In all the Ohio-Pittsburgh local elected 19 positions. Mega-locals NY and LA are set to see their results in on August 15, along with the National Officers’ results. In the meantime, expect more local results over the next week.

PREVIOUSLY, MONDAY PM: Nobody cuts it close like Nevada – at least not in the SAG-AFTRA elections. In the tightest race so far of the union’s first national election since merging last year, the Silver State’s Art Lynch has won election to a four-year term as a National Board Member by one vote. Lynch beat Steve Dressler 99 to 98 in a four-way race for the seat, SAG-AFTRA announced today. Fellow candidates Kim Renee received 73 ballots while Chris Rogers pulled in 55. Percentagewise, Lynch won with 30.46% to Dressler’s 30.16%. Still, as they say in the casinos, a win is a win. Other than the National Board Member race, the other 11 results in the Nevada local were for unopposed candidates. Though losing the Board Member race, Renee did secure a Convention Delegate slot. The local sent out 1,216 ballots with 339 returned and tabulated today for a 27.88% return rate. That’s better than the 23% return average the local elections have had so far. Of course, with mega-locals NY and LA set to see their results in on August 15, along with the National Officers’ results, that figure could rise. New Orleans and San Francisco-Northern California local results were announced earlier today (see below for them and more local results). Additional local election results are expected this week.

PREVIOUSLY, MONDAY PM: With nearly a quarter of SAG-AFTRA’s 70 elected National Board Members now already chosen, the union’s first national election since merger is moving steadily towards its August 15th conclusion. Today SAG-AFTRA announced the results of the New Orleans Local election. The NOLA race saw 10 of the 12 winners gain their gig through balloted elections with only two candidates running unopposed. Charles Ferrara beat Stanton Thomas Barrett by 103 ballots to 67 for the National Board Member slot. Overall, 682 ballots were sent out with 172 returned and tabulated today. Next week is when the now solo positions of National President and National Secretary-Treasurer will be tabulated and announced, along with the NY and LA locals. The Executive VP and other VP jobs will be voted on by delegates at the SAG-AFTRA National Convention in LA on September 26 to 29.

PREVIOUSLY, 12:29 PM: There’s just over a week to go before the National Officers’ results of the first SAG-AFTRA election since last year’s merger but today the union released more local results. The San Francisco-Northern California local elected 19 officials, SAG-AFTRA said. Of that, only 2 of the winners were elected in a balloted election – the rest ran unopposed. Kathryn Howell beat Denny Delk for the local President’s position by 686 ballots to 284. However, Delk was elected a National Board Member-Performer over Phillip Ramirez in what turned out to be a tighter race. Delk won 548 ballots to Ramirez’s 418. The results were tabulated on August 2. Overall, 4,178 ballots were sent out in the SF-Northern California election with 975 ballots (23.34%) returned. Today’s results join local election numbers from the Twin Cities, Houston-Austin, Chicago, Miami, Hawaii, Dallas-Ft Worth and the Missouri Valley. More local election results are expected this week. The results of the National officer elections, as well as the LA and NY local elections, are expected on or just after August 15 once all the returned ballots are in.

PREVIOUSLY, FRIDAY PM: With just two weeks to go until the ballots are in for the National Officers in SAG-AFTRA’s first national election since the unions merged, more local results were revealed today. Unopposed candidates dominated the Twin Cities Local election for Minneapolis-St. Paul with only one balloted winner among the 14 names announced today. Randal Berger won a National Board Member position over Shirley Venard-Diercks with 76 votes to 63. Of the 561 ballots mailed out, 139 or 24.78% were returned. The results were tabulated today. In the Houston-Austin results it was more of a mix with just four of the 13 winners running unopposed. Still, the return results were the lowest in the union’s local elections so far this cycle. A mere 18.25% of the 1,008 ballots mailed out were returned in Houston-Austin. Percentage-wise, those 184 ballots are even lower than the 18.45% of mailed out ballots that were returned in the Dallas-Ft. Worth election. The Houston-Austin results were tabulated today. More local election results are expected over the next week. The results of the National officer elections, as well as the LA and NY local elections, are expected on or just after August 15 once all the returned ballots are in.

PREVIOUSLY AUGUST 1 PM: The SAG-AFTRA local elections results train keeps on rolling and now it has stopped in Chicago. The winners in the union’s Windy City contest were announced today after being tabulated on Wednesday. As with previous results from Miami, Hawaii, Dallas-Ft Worth and the Missouri Valley locals, the results are a combo of unopposed and balloted winners. With 3,687 ballots mailed out and 731 returned, Chicago has the second lowest return rate of the union’s first national election since it merged in the spring of 2012. Only Dallas-Ft Worth was lower with just 18.45% of its mailed out ballots returned compared to Chicago’s 19.83%. More results are expected later this week from other regions. The results of the National officer elections as well as the LA and NY local elections are expected on or just after August 15 once all the returned ballots are in.

PREVIOUSLY, JULY 31 PM: And more local results are in from the SAG-AFTRA elections. Now winners in Dallas-Fort Worth and the Missouri Valley locals have been announced. In the former region 965 ballots were sent out with 178 coming back while in the latter, 964 ballots were mailed out and 194 returned. The results for Missouri Valley were tabulated on July 29 and the results for Dallas-Ft Worth were tabulated today, according to the union. As in Miami and Hawaii, the latest local election results are a combo of unopposed and balloted winners. The balloted winners are indicated by the asterisk next to their name. See the results below.
UPDATE, 12:38 PM: SAG-AFTRA today released the local results from America’s most recent state and from Miami. Unlike the Michigan, Portland and Nashville local elections results the union released on Tuesday, not every candidate in Hawaii and Miami ran unopposed. Balloted winners are indicated here by the asterisk next to their name. In Hawaii, 904 ballots were sent out with 298 returned. In Miami, 3,428 ballots were mailed with 801 returned. Results for both local elections were tabulated on July 29. More results are expected later today from other regions with more to come over the next week or so. Results of the National officer elections as well as the LA and NY local elections are expected on or just after August 15 once all the results are in.
Here are the Dallas-Fort Worth, Missouri Valley, Hawaii and Miami local election results:
