Get ready to shake, rattle, and roll with DC’s award-winning family band Rocknoceros! Performers Coach Cotton, Williebob, and Boogie Woogie Bennie have been getting families on their feet and dancing to upbeat tunes like Brush Your Teeth, Pirate Harvey, and Texas since 2005!
Tickets distributed 30 minutes before each show. One ticket per person in line. The performances are best appreciated by children four years and older.

DC-based singer/songwriter Marsha Goodman-Wood sets little toes to tapping with original melodies that mix generous doses of science and positive social messages into songs that are just plain fun. Her quirky, smart compositions take on topics from astronomy (answering the age-old question “Why Can’t You Dance on Jupiter?”) to nonconformity (“Sheep Don’t Wear Shoes”) to biology (“The Penguin Song”).

It’s bedtime! But, instead of getting ready for bed, two children use their imaginations to turn their room into a wonderland of mess! While playing dress-up, a glove becomes a dancing fish, a shirt becomes a fantastical creature, and a sock dance rocks the closet! In this interactive show, discover the joy of turning things inside out. Performances include a “free play” session, allowing the audience to explore some items used in the show. Ages 1-5.
*Lap tickets are available for $5 and should be purchased for children 12 months and younger who do not take a seat.

Take a toe-tapping trip to the bayou in this family-friendly, Zydeco-driven musical soaked in N’awlins hot sauce! Based on the classic fairy tale and adapted from the book by Mike Artell and Jim Harris, a red-hooded duckling named Petite Rouge and her sidekick cat lead the Big Bad Gator on a wild “duck” chase through New Orleans and Mardi Gras. Will they make it to Grandmere’s house with a basket full of Cajun goodies?

Sleepy Hollow: Ballet and American Art

American Art is excited to collaborate with The Washington Ballet and artistic director Septime Webre for a production of Sleepy Hollow. Dancers perform never-before-seen excerpts from the upcoming world premiere of the full-length ballet based on Washington Irving’s classic ghost story. Between excerpts, Webre discusses the creation of the new ballet, costume and set design, and the link with American Art’s Hudson River school paintings. Inspired by artworks in the galleries, explore the past through the lens of other cultures and use memoir and journalistic techniques to compose short pieces. For ages 12–18.
