Ball Aerospace is a prime contractor leading development teams at AFRL and NASIC. Dayton personnel develop advanced hardware and software systems and provide management services to solve customer problems and create new capabilities. This includes designing and developing software tools and threat models, performing extensive data analyses, and executing modeling and simulations using both internally developed and standard models.

Systems Engineering Solutions provides technical and professional services to defense, intelligence, homeland security and space science markets.

Qualifications:

**Senior Systems Administrator**

The work includes performing analytical activities related to definition, development, implementation, maintenance & support of Unix, Linux, and/or Windows Operating Systems and client-server supported applications. The position will exercise a broad knowledge of Information Systems, Network Topologies and supporting Information Technology Infrastructure Systems. The position will also draw upon people skills to successfully support growing needs of research team/on-site government customer. The majority of the work will be performed on site at WPAFB, OH.

**What You’ll Do:**

* This person would perform systems administrator functions to include:
* Interface with users on complex network management tasks, i.e. research mods to existing programs.
* Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining systems documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software and allocating mass storage space.
* Maintaining smooth multi-user computer systems operation, including network admin coordination.
* Define system integration requirements and determine cost/risk.
* Making recommendations for H/W and S/W purchases, coordinate installation and backup recovery.
* Troubleshooting Unix, Linux and Windows OS problems.
* Develop/monitor policies/standards for allocation related to use of computing resources. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
* Perform other duties as necessary.

**What You’ll Need:**

* BS in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 8 or more years related experience
* 8 years of experience in the Systems Administrator domain that includes effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of both hardware and software systems.
* Actively lead project teams in the planning and implementation of critical technologies that directly benefit the warfighter.
* Current CISSP, Security +, CCNA required
* Highly desirable experience: Java, USAF Certified Instructor, NetBeans, Eclipse, Visual Studio, and HP Fortify
* Strong understanding of vulnerability exploitation, network topology, Incident Analysis, compliance tracking
* Possess strong technical skills and analytic abilities, as well as, experience performing network security analysis and risk management.
* Possess broad knowledge of network architectures and network management tools.
* Demonstrated ability to perform complex goal-oriented technical tasks with minimal direction.
* Demonstrated ability to be innovative, with resourcefulness and a strong drive for results.
* Experience working with the Air Force, WPAFB, and AFRL.
* In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

**Working Conditions:**

* Work is performed in an office environment
* Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball location may be required.
* No more than 20% travel is expected.
