High School/GED Basic computer skills Customer service skills 1-2 years experience required Effectively navigates within Nuance (Enterprise Express Editor) editing EXSpeech recognized drafts and may also transcribe non-speech dictation by physicians and other healthcare providers to include history & physicals, inpatient progress notes, consultations, diagnostic studies, Emergency Department notes, transfer summaries, off service notes, surgical procedures, discharge summaries, specialty clinic visits, referral letters, sleep studies, and any other medical documents maintaining a consistent editing/transcription average of 200 lines per hour. Responsibilities may vary depending on demonstration of skills within various work types and specialties. Assignments are determined by his/her skill level with the intention of increasing depth of exposure and continually improving quality and productivity. As an editor gains expertise in speech-recognition editing, they may serve as a resource to coworkers on the team, educating and coaching them toward improvement in their level of efficiency and skill. Additional responsibilities include accurate and timely manual creation of routine surgical reports utilizing established ESP's (Expanded Sentences and Phrases) within Nuance for participating ENT and Ophthalmologic physicians. Editors use initiative and independent judgment in editing of medical documents. This is a staff level position reporting to the Medical Transcription/Word Processing Coordinator. Required: High school diploma/GED, 1-2 years experience in medical transcription, typing skills of 65+ words per minute, edits/transcribes medical documents maintaining a consistent average of 200 lines per hour, word processing skills, medical/non-medical language skills, medical/non-medical terminology skills, Windows applications for transcription, HBOC, Microsoft Office Outlook, and clerical skills including filing, grammar, and medical/non-medical spelling are required. Preferred: Knowledge of Nuance dictation/transcription system.
