Faculty Rank/Job Title:Acute Care Surgeon - This position will be the Associate Director forthe Trauma program at Miami Vally Hospital.

Department:SurgeryReports to:Department Chair, Acute Care Surgery Division DirectorJob Summary:To provide trauma/critical care/emergency general surgery based at the Level One Trauma Center at Miami Valley Hospital. There is opportunity for development of an active general surgical practice, as well as protected time for research. Surgeon will participate in patient care, research, educational activities, and regional trauma system development.Minimum Qualifications:Applicant must have completed an accredited surgical residency program and a fellowship in trauma/critical care, and have interest and experience in scholarly activity. Board certification or eligibility for certification in general surgery and surgical critical care is required. Licensable to practice medicine in the state of Ohio.Preferred Qualifications:~ Assistant Professor level candidates must fulfill the requirements listed above.~ Associate Professor level candidates must fulfill all the requirements of Assistant Professor, must have at least 3 years' experience at the Assistant Professor level, and have Board Certification.~ Full Professor level candidates must fulfill all requirements of the Associate Professor, have at least 3 years' experience at the Associate Professor level and sustained high performance in scholarly activity.Working Conditions:The successful candidate will join a group of seven surgeons based at Miami Valley Hospital, a 735-bed, ACS verified Level I Trauma Center with over 3,500 trauma patient admissions per year.Essential Functions:Primary responsibilities include resident and medical student education, surgical and critical care of trauma patients, elective and emergency general surgery patients, along with research. The trauma program is supported by thirteen advanced practitioners, in house radiology and interventional radiology, an attached inpatient rehabilitation facility, andsubspecialty support including plastics, maxillofacial, ob-gyn, and anesthesiology.Applicant Instructions:Please attach curriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation to application.Other Information:Non-tenure track.
