## Job Summary/Basic Function
WSU-SOPP is seeking a part-time research assistant to begin as early as December 1, 2016. This position will oversee and be responsible for all aspects of study implementation at the data collection site. To ensure that participant recruitment, assessment, scheduling with therapists, data collection, and all required documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.
## Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a science field.
Minimum of one year previous research experience is required. Research experience may include having worked as a research assistant during undergraduate degree completion.
Must be able to pass a security background check to obtain permission to access a military base.
Employee will be the primary point of contact for the study at the data collection site. Excellent interpersonal skills, comfort interacting with a variety of people, and ability to function in a highly independent role are essential qualities.
## Preferred Qualifications
A Master’s degree in healthcare or a science field is preferred.
Prior experience as a clinical research coordinator would increase competency in performing this job. Specifically, prior experience with participant recruitment, enrollment, and assessment in any IRB-approved medical and/or behavioral science research project would be valuable.
Experience and competency with Microsoft Office for preparation of reports and maintaining study documentation is preferred.
## Essential Functions and percent of time
Achieve monthly participant recruitment and study enrollment goals. Use a variety of strategies to communicate awareness of the study to the Air Force base community, e.g., educating medical clinic staff, working with base community education agencies, giving in-person talks at appropriate venues, use of social media, etc. Be the point of contact for receiving calls, emails, and texts from interested participants and educating them on the purpose of the study and the details of their participation. (25%)
Conduct informed consent interviews and completes related documentation. Ensure participants complete baseline and post-treatment surveys. Establish and organize study files. Maintain all required documentation for participant study enrollment and assessments in accordance with Institutional Review Board standards, University policies and procedures, and other regulatory and legal guidelines. (25%)
Be responsible for scheduling study participants to meet with therapists in the primary care clinic. Ensure that initial, follow-up, and all rescheduling of appointments is conducted in a manner that maximizes attendance and completion of required appointments. Be the point of contact for participants concerning all scheduling questions. (20%)
Maintain on-going communication with the Principle Investigator (PI) and research team to maximize study objectives. Participate in weekly teleconferences with the research team and phone calls as needed with individual team members. Maintain a written record of key points, guidance, and information from meetings with the PI and team. (20%)
Be responsible for maintaining, providing, and record-keeping for all financial incentives for participant enrollment. Maintain financial incentives (gift cards) in a secure location and keep accurate records (receipts) when provided to study participants. (10%)
