The DRS Advanced ISR business unit designs, develops and manufactures EWISR systems, avionics systems, flight safety products, tactical radios, communications equipment and intelligence systems used by the United State and friendly foreign military services. *Job Location*: Dayton, Ohio

*Position Summary:*

This position is in our Dayton, Ohio location in the Mission Point office complex. Responsibilities will involve primarily leading a team of engineers supporting the development of our EWISR product line and the integration of our products into airborne, naval, and ground systems.

*Duties and Responsibilities:*

• Ability to manage a project through initiation, planning, execution, control/monitoring, and closure.

* Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a project or projects on time and budget

• Ensure design compliance with all project requirements

• Ability to lead a team of engineers to complete a project or projects independently

• Review customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable

• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required

• Participates heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals

• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress

• Lead a project team or teams as assigned

• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

• Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers

• Other duties as assigned

*Basic Qualifications:*

* Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Minimum of 4 years of experience - Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge

* Project Management Professional Certified or ability to attain certification

* Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines

* 2 or more years’ experience working in a defined process environment (CMMI Level 3 or higher)

* Ability to Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable

* Proven Ability to Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems

* Ability to complete a technical project independently

* Expected to have knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines enough to lead engineers on the project team

* Secret Clearance or ability to attain one

* NSA Certification experience a plus

* DO-178 Certification experience a plus

* CMMI Level III experience a plus

* Software Defined Radio (SDR) experience a plus

* DF and Monitoring system experience a plus
