Informatica Data Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities

DDC-ITS is seeking qualified candidates to provide support for the Air Force Logistics community. The position is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and data integrity for the Informatica tool suite. The Informatics Analyst analyzes, researches, validates and interprets data for the Logistics Data Management Team (LODM). He/she functions as the lead for ad hoc and standard reporting and contributes to the technical quality assurance process for the LODM team and tests/reconciles data for quality, integrity, validity and accuracy. He/she creates new and modifies existing processes, reports and dashboards; develops, tests, and implements standard and ad hoc reports that will enable data driven business decisions, analyzing and interpreting data trends. He/she works with the Data Analysis and Data Warehouse teams as well as clients to obtain, validate and reconcile electronic data transfers from their information systems:

Primary Responsibilities:

Data reporting lead (30%)

+ As part of the Data Analysis Team, lead the ad hoc and standard reporting process.

+ Responsible for timely communication and follow-up regarding reporting requests, changes, interpretation, enhancements, and modifications to impacted parties so that issues and solutions are understood.

+ Run, validate and produce standard monthly & quarterly patient satisfaction reports, time and other management reports.

+ Define and execute routines to deliver scheduled periodic reports.

+ Ensure smooth project coordination and timely reporting.

+ Modify existing reports and create new business intelligence dashboards, reports and templates as needed.

+ Responsible for maintaining and resolving issues with existing reports, in addition to developing new reports as needed to contribute to other aspects of the business intelligence team.

+ Responsible for the development/maintenance of reporting procedures.

+ Responsible for making recommendations or alternatives for improving processes in reporting systems.

Data validation and quality (30%)

+ Test/reconcile data for quality and accuracy.

+ Conduct root cause analysis when data integrity issues are discovered.

+ Automate QA processes

+ Perform impact analysis on report portfolios when system changes are introduced

+ Work closely with IT Data Warehousing and Data Team to validate external data sources

+ Validate results of ad hoc and existing reports before distribution to clients

Data and business systems analyst (30%)

+ Analyst responsible for critically interpreting and evaluating user requests to design business intelligence solutions for multiple clients in a complex business environment

+ Examine, analyze, evaluate and develop new complex Business Objects Webi reports based on customer needs and integrating multiple data sources.

+ Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems, workflows and user needs.

+ Documents requirements, creates process flows, defines scope and objectives and formulates processes to meet business needs and strategies.

+ Critically interprets and evaluates user requests and designs reporting solutions for multiple clients in a complex business environment

+ Identify new data requirements and work with the Data Team to integrate the data into the data warehouse.

Other Projects as required (10%)

+ Work on special projects as requested including research projects

+ Analyze business needs, assess current technology solutions and make recommendations to meet future business needs

+ College degree required with a minimum of three years’ experience analyzing data, writing complex queries & reports.

+ Srong working knowledge of relational databases and experience with SQL is strongly desired.

+ Working knowledge of data exchange methodologies and standards is preferred.

+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.

+ Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

+ Strong analysis, design and development abilities with programming experience desired.

+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

+ A relational database platform available for tenant application development and serves as the metadata repositories for multiple components of the Informatica suite of Data Management tools

+ Business Intelligence and Reporting Platform leveraged by EDE for general reporting requirements and for enterprise data management metadata exposure
