**Description:**

**1. Location**

This position is located in the Tipp City, OH facility. Little to no travel is required.

**2. Purpose of Position**

The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for completing all toolroom work in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner. He will ensure that all tools and dies that are manufactured, comply accordingly with applicable quality codes and standards. He will be proficient in the use of all toolroom equipment to complete the tasks presented under Key Responsibilities.

**3. Key Responsibilities**

• Will receive assignments and direction from Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Supervisor or Factory manager but will be competent to complete tasks without further supervision.

• Ability to setup and run manual and CNC Lathes, Bridgeport’s, grinders, saws, CNC mills and other toolroom equipment.

• Understand the use of proper materials for different jobs.

• Be competent in heat treating various grades of material to provide proper hardness and wear resistance of tooling.

• Studies and understands blueprints, sketches, print specifications/tolerances, GD&T.

• Knowledge of tool designs and plans for sequence of operations. Be able to hold tight tolerance with proper machine and process selection.

• Will produce/troubleshoot/diagnose and repair various tooling, jigs, fixtures, etc.

• Create a Tool Management system to support Catlow Operations and Engineering.

• Plans and leads to expand tool room capabilities.

• Able to fabricate new and repair/improve existing tools, jigs, fixtures, and machinists’ hand tools.

• Will lift, move and transport tooling as required.

• Will perform any additional duties normally completed by tool makers.

• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

**4. Relationships**

• Reports to Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

• Works directly with Engineers, Supervisors, Cell Operators, and Members of Management.

• Interfaces with vendors and suppliers as necessary.

**Qualifications:**

**1. Background and Skills**

• Minimum 5 years previous experience in machining and tool making required.

• General computer knowledge required.

• Mechanical knowledge of CNC and machine tools required.

• Ability to proficiently use precision measuring equipment required.

• Welding experience is a plus

• Completion of two school years of vocational, technical or trade school training in the areas of machining and/or tool & die making (or equivalent experience) required.

• Practical knowledge of engineering science and technology required.

• Ability to lift 40lbs required.
