**Description**
*1. **Location*
This position is located at Gilbarco – Catlow LLC. Tipp City, Ohio. Occasional travel may be required.
*2. **Purpose of Position*
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design and drafting of mechanical solutions for both new and existing devices utilized in fuel dispensing, vapor collection and associated control systems. The successful candidate will utilize their communications, solid modeling and drafting skills to develop solutions and coordinate team activities to achieve program initiatives. In addition, this person will be responsible for assigning ECN tasks through the PLM system. Involvement includes all aspects the workflow from initial concept and verification testing through development, qualification and launch.
*3. **Key Responsibilities*
_Mechanical Design for Engineering Projects_
* Work with product development project teams as engineering design resource.
* Maintain standard work and best practices for drafting and modeling standards.
* Create and maintain ECNs including assigning task owners
* Occasional travel to other facilities, customers, and vendors required.
* Perform regular ECN processing, including: part number request, ECN document preparing/submission, checking engineering drawing, creating/updating BOMs.
* Participate in APD process
* Participate in cost-reduction activities, component evaluations, and other manufacturing initiatives to support continuous improvement.
* Other duties as assigned by Manager.
*4. **Relationships*
* This position reports directly to the Manager, Hanging Hardware Engineering.
* Collaborate with local and global design partners, vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
*5. **Measures of Performance*
* Ensure design group quality and on-time performance meet project requirements and schedule.
* Success in meeting performance objectives as defined by critical success factors.

**Qualification**
*1. **Background and Skills*
* Associates in Mechanical Design required with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering a plus
* Mechanical “Hand-On” type person required
* 5-8 Years of experience in product design and development with manufacturing process knowledge a plus.
* 5 years’ minimum experience doing detailed CAD design. ProE CREO strongly preferred. Experience with Solidworks is a plus.
* Experience with Windchill is a plus
* 3 years minimum experience in a product management and the ECN process as a coordinator or similar.
* Experience with GD&T and performing tolerance stack up analysis is a plus
* Knowledge of machining processes, injection molding design, casting and sheet metal design preferred; knowledge of circuit board layout design a plus.
