Project Electrical Engineer responsibilities:

* Work with AES Energy Storage Balance of Plant Owner’s Engineers, AES Energy Storage AdvancionTM Product team, and colleagues at project sites to adjust template technical specifications for specific energy storage projects.
* Identify bidders, conduct competitive tenders, and close contracts for project engineering, procurement, and construction and for key Balance of Plant components that AES purchases directly.
* Further refine cost estimates for energy storage projects based on material and labor component estimates. Evaluate contractor line-item bids and apply this analysis to negotiation and to improve cost estimating.
* Interface with Owner’s Engineers, AES Energy Storage AdvancionTM Product team, AES colleagues at project sites, AES Energy Storage Operations team, EPC contractors, battery and inverter equipment suppliers, and other legal and technical service providers.
* Support ongoing works as needed in a variety of areas such as grid interconnection filings, permit due diligence, safety practice, site agreements, tax due diligence, insurance risk analysis, and upkeep of the AES Energy Storage Deployment Program. In addition, support project engineering and construction managers in design submittal review, visit project sites to keep in front of project issues, and participate in on-site commissioning works.

**Qualifications**

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering
* 3 years of experience in the construction and engineering services domain.
* Electrical Engineering design (concept, basic and detailed design) in power generation or transmission projects.
* Performing engineering reviews and recommendations on project specifications, construction methods, and equipment.
* Project scope definition and ability to write technical specifications.
* Experience in tender negotiations from a technical perspective is a plus.
* Experience in Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems, High Voltage is a plus.
* Experience in electrical protection systems. SCADA, network knowledge/experience is a plus.
* Working in a multinational environment with globally dispersed teams.
* Fluent in written and spoken English. Solid skills on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. CAD, and electrical engineering modelling skills a plus.
