Hi! Welcome back for Day 2 of the Papertrey Countdown! I'm so excited to introduce you to my newest stamp set and die collections today! One of the great things about being a card maker, is being able to create custom cards, personalized for any recipient. That's where my new stamp set and die collections come into play! They allow you to create personalized cards for everyone in your family tree, and not only that, but you can use these sentiments and coordinating dies for a wide variety of occasions as well. Combine these with nearly any image stamps you already have in your existing collection, and the customization possibilities are practically endless!
The Family Ties stamp set contains large script words featuring different members of the family -- son, daughter, mom, dad, etc. as well as a collection of small companion sentiments that can be mixed and matched (or even used alone!) to create a huge array of custom sentiments! And of course, we also have coordinating dies, and to give you the option to just buy the dies you need, they've been broken into two separate die collections -- Family Ties: For the Girls and Family Ties: For the Boys! Let me show you how I put these new goodies to use!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
To start, I stamped the "Daughter" and a companion sentiment from Family Ties, using berry sorbet and cocoa bean inks and then grabbed the Fresh Bouquet stamp set -- because I can't seem to stop using it -- and stamped some bouquets around the edges of the card. I filled in the cocoa bean outline with melon berry, berry sorbet and pure poppy inks, but I left the leaves blank for a bit of artistic flare. This also allowed me to keep the color scheme very monochromatic, by not adding in green leaves.
After all my stamping was done, I die cut an oval from the center with one of the Noted dies and then adhered the outside of the panel, flat on the card front. The oval was popped up with foam adhesive for some dimension.
Next up, I created a card for my Grandma using a piece of patterned paper from the Vintage Linens paper collection. I used the "Grandma" die from the Family Ties: For the Girls collection and die cut two of the word and stacked them up for dimension.
Then, I stamped two of the companion sentiments from Family Ties, before tying on a bit of baker's twine. I trimmed off a smidge of the paper around the edge and adhered the whole thing to a pale peony card base.
Next up, I've got a masculine card for you! I pulled out the King of the Grill stamp set and paired it with the die cut "Dad" from the Family Ties: For the Boys die collection. Before cutting out the word, I blended on some of the new honey nut ink along the bottom half. Then, when I die cut the word, I got bit of color on the bottom half, keeping the top half white.
I stamped the hamburger buns with kraft ink and then, using my misti stamping tool, added a bit of shading with honey nut ink on the top and bottom of the bun.
The companion sentiment from Family Ties was added on a strip of white card stock and lastly, I popped on a piece of chicken scratch patterned paper, to the honey nut card base.
Here's another masculine card for you.....for this one, I pulled out the 7th Inning Stretch stamp set and added a couple of die cut baseball bats as well as balls and cap from the set. The "Son" from Family Ties was stamped with saffron spice ink and the companion sentiment, "cheering for you", was stamped in cocoa bean.
I love that the Family Ties set allows you to create custom cards for special occasions or just because you want to let a loved one know you care!
One more for today.....for this one, I pulled out one of the papers from the Floral Sketches paper collections. I die cut the "Sister" from the Family Ties: For the Girls die collection, from the patterned paper and then adhered the paper to the raspberry fizz card base. Then, I stamped the coordinating Sister stamp in the negative space.
To finish things off, I added two little sentiment strips featuring two more of the companion sentiments from Family Ties.
