Hello there, dear friends.  I write to you as dear friends, even though I know many of us have never met.  But honestly, so many of you have been visiting me for so long that it feels like we know each other better than we do.  :)  For those of you who have been visiting me for years, you've probably become fairly familiar with my family over time.  I'm the oldest of five siblings and the baby is getting married TODAY!!!  She's the last of the siblings to get married.  She's 19-1/2 years younger than me and she's getting married on our 15-1/2 year anniversary!  So, it's a pretty big weekend around the McVey household, what with the wedding festivities AND the Papertrey Countdown all happening at once!

All that being said, I'm so excited about this month's Countdown at Papertrey!  I have quite a few stamp sets and dies coming out this month -- five sets, in case you don't want to miss one -- so I'll be showcasing the different sets on different days.  So you'll definitely want to check back each day to see what's new.  For today, I'm gonna start with peeks at a couple of the new sets because they work so well together and not only that, but they'll work so well with lots of holiday stamps you may already have in your collection!  I'm beyond excited to show you these new products!!

All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.

So, to kick things off, allow me to introduce you to my Holiday Greens stamp set, which I really think has become my new go-to Christmas "floral".  Obviously it's not actually a floral stamp set, but it's full of holiday greenery, berries and pinecones that can be mixed and matched to your heart's content to create beautiful "winter floral" type arrangements.  And not only that, but you can tuck these sprigs behind all sorts of holiday images from your collection, to bring previously released sets to life again.  OR, simply use these greens to accent your sentiment and you're good to go.  You know I love to create with flowers, and these greenery images sort of fill that winter flower void for me, so they've been a ton of fun to stamp with this week!

I've also designed a border set -- Holiday Greens Borders -- which will make quick work of adding some of that same holiday greenery to your projects in border form, with just one or two quick impressions.  These images are long enough to cover your entire card front and there are two-step berry stamps as well as a couple of greenery stamps which can be used alone or layered for even more options.  There is also a collection of fun sentiments (including one, punny) that are perfect for use on gift tags and more.  I can't wait for you to see this one in full, but in the meantime, I'll be showing you lots of Holiday Greens and Holiday Greens Borders today and tomorrow so stay tuned!

I also have the pleasure of helping to introduce you to Maile Belles' new sentiment set called Holiday Swoosh.  This is a follow-up to her Swoosh stamp set, so I think you're going to like this one!  Let's get right to the projects!

For this first card, I'm also throwing in a little sneak peek at one of my new sentiment sets from this release and this particular sentiment is it's namesake....A Thrill of Hope.  Stay tuned later in the week, for lots more about that set!  I stamped the sentiment on an oval cut with one of the Noted: A2 dies and layered a second one behind it, using card stock in a new color you might not have seen before.  Wink!  Watch Nichole's blog for more info about that!

Next, I piled on several Holiday Greens die cuts, that were all stamped with my new MISTI stamping tool.  I have to say, that thing sure makes it easy to get great stamped impressions and not only that, but just look at the ink blending on the berries!  Yep, that's thanks to the MISTI.  Makes it really easy.  I will also tell you that I was given a tip to cut down a Cricut adhesive mat to tuck into the MISTI, so that the card stock and die cuts stick in the MISTI when you open the door, rather than them sticking to the stamp and coming up with the stamp when you open the door....total game-changer for me.  I linked to both items in the supply lists below......I'm loving both!

Next up, more die cuts from Holiday Greens.  And more ink blending on both the berries and the pine sprigs.

I used one of the new Holiday Swoosh dies and a pair of sentiments to create the completed "Merry Christmas" and layered the whole thing on some Holiday Plaid patterned paper.

Here's a super simple card that kinda packs a lot of cuteness!  More Holiday Swoosh sentiments, stamped on a Noted: Scalloped A2 die cut card base and some more die cut Holiday Greens.  I'm telling you, once you start stamping those die cut greenery bits and bobs, it's hard to stop!!  And when you have a whole pile of them on your craft desk just waiting to be used, it's so fun to just pile them on however you please!

I did some more ink blending on both the greenery and berries here.  I just ink the stamp up with two colors and stamp with the misti.  And if it doesn't come out dark enough in one spot or another, the misti makes it super easy to just stamp again, so you simply re-ink and stamp it again, and thanks to the misti, it lands in the exact same place.  Love that!

Here's a nice (nearly) one-layer card that would be easy for holiday mailing.  I just used one of the Holiday Swoosh sentiments here and stamped a variety of Holiday Greens in the corners.

I went back in on the base of the berry stems and the pine sprigs and added some subtle shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen.  (Linked that below for you, too.)

Along the bottom, I used the heart border die, to add some scallops and also added a strip of tropical teal card stock.  Oh, and that card base....that same new color I mentioned earlier.  :)

One more for today.....this one was FUN to make and soooo easy, and bonus -- it's another easy mailer!  I used the Noted: Scalloped A2 die to cut out a card base from watercolor card stock, but I cut that in half and only used one half here.  I just mounted it on a regular card stock base, and that way, I can make two cards, with the one die cut (since I'm using good watercolor card stock here.....no sense wasting half of it on the back of the card where I'm not doing any watercoloring!).

I simply used two ink colors to stamp two of the border images from Holiday Greens Borders.  I stamped one border in tropical teal and the other in the new ink color and just layered them right on top of each other.  Next, I went over them with a water brush, allowing the colors to blend and mix and goodness, what a pretty effect.  And it was quick, too!  Definitely a bonus if you're making lots of the same card for Christmas.

I used two more of the sentiments from Holiday Swoosh here, to finish things off.

I hope you've enjoyed your time with me and have come away feeling inspired!  I'm so excited to see you back here tomorrow for lots more holiday fun!

For today, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Betsy Veldman & Kay Miller for lots more sneak peeks.  Heather Nichols, Erin Lincoln, Maile Belles & Lizzie Jones will have peeks at their new sets as well.

See you soon!
