Hello there! It's my pleasure to help introduce you to the next Make It Market kit by Betsy Veldman today! Here is some info about the kit....
The next Make It Market Kit will be released on January 5th and it is entitled "You're a Masterpiece". Betsy has once again outdone herself! This collection of products can be used in such a large variety of ways! Whether you make small works of art as a gift to be displayed on a handmade easel, or send along all the bits and pieces for the recipient to put together their own masterpiece, you will love all the possibilities!!!

And now for some projects....!
First up, I created a little 3-D "card" that could be left out on someone's dresser or perhaps their desk....a little piece of artwork that they can keep to remind them of how special they are. The nice thing is, that you can jot a little note to your recipient, right on the back side of the card stock so it serves as a card and gift all in one!
I used one of the little square canvases from the kit as my starting point, and watercolord some blue and green on the canvas. Next, I stamped the butterfly from the You're a Masterpiece stamp set and cut it out with paper snips. Once the watercolor was dry, I adhered the butterfly to the canvas. Scor-tape worked perfectly for this. (Liquid glue did not! Haha!) A couple of enamel dots from the kit were added to the body of the butterfly.
As for the frames, they are both from the patterned paper pack that comes in the kit. There are sheets of frames that can be easily die cut, using the coordinating dies from the kit. I die cut the turquoise frame as well as the yellow one, layered them together and then adhered the canvas on top.
The framed portion was mounted on a piece of stamper's select white card stock and underneath it, I stamped a sentiment from the You're a Masterpiece stamp set, using smokey shadow ink.
I moved the artwork out of the way, so you could see the easel....! How cute is that?! It was made with the You're a Masterpiece Easel dies! I die cut two of each of the pieces -- there's a front piece, the back leg and a tray. Each pair of die cuts were adhered to each other, just to make the easel a bit sturdier, before I put the three pieces of the easel together. A bit of scor-tape at the top of the back leg and a strip along the back edge of the tray and voila! A darling little easel! Oh, and that cute little paint brush is one of several that also come in the kit....I couldn't resist adding one to the tray just for an added little touch! ;)
For those of you who aren't so into 3-D cards and prefer more traditional ones, not to worry. You can make lots of traditional cards with You're a Masterpiece too! And bonus, there are some cute decorative bags that come in the kit, that make great envelopes!
I used the frame dies to cut out a raspberry fizz frame and a hawaiian shores frame and then stamped them with the coordinating frame images in pure poppy ink and new leaf ink. Man, I love how these look together!
I used two of the sentiment building components from the stamp set, to stamp the focal point inside the frame.
To accent the frame, I added a few more images from the You're a Masterpiece stamp set...there are two paint brushes -- the pointed one and the blunt end one -- and they each have two stamps so you can stamp the tip in a different color! I also added a couple of hearts from the same stamp set.
I used one of the decorative bags as an envelope for this card too, which works great since this one has a paint brush sticking off the front of the card!!
On the left, you can see the paintbrush and I used one of the new dies from the You're a Masterpiece collection, which allows you to cut these little holder holes anywhere on your card that you'd like, so you can add a paint brush with ease! Behind the paint brush is a strip of paper from the patterned paper collection.
As for the framed portion, I used the larger frame die to cut out some smokey shadow card stock and then stamped both the scroll frame and the square frame using fresh snow ink. On top of the frame, I layered a small square of watercolor paper (these squares also come in the kit!), which is stamped with the cityscape image from the stamp set. This will allow the recipient to paint on her own card!! Notice the sentiment....
"Go ahead and paint the town (or at least this little canvas)"! How fun is that?! I added a few enamel dots to the sentiment as a final touch.
I also decorated a gift box that comes in the kit....this box could be filled with art supplies, including some watercolor paints, so the recipient can get a little creative and crafty!
