Consumers might think of the Cylindrical T when it comes to hybrid and other fuel-efficient vehicles... But when the time comes to get serious about fuel savings, AT&T turns to American automaker, Chevrolet. Specifically, the wireless company recently pledged to make its fleet among the most fuel-efficient in the world, and that means purchasing a wide range of vehicles to replace their current ones.

So what did Chevrolet have to offer? For now, a fleet of 1,200 compressed natural gas (CNG) Chevrolet Express 1500 cargo vans. And if you ask us here at Dave Smith Motors, that's a pretty good start. But we also know that there's more to come. After all, AT&T did dedicate upwards of $565 million to this new initiative. So expect to hear about more green vehicles from GM joining the AT&T fleet in the future.

But why natural gas specifically? "CNG technology is important to AT&T because it helps us reduce our fleet-based carbon emissions," says AT&T VP of Fleet Operations, Jerome Webber. "It is also cost-effective and readily available in our country right now."1

Of course, this isn't to say that you should expect to see a wide range of CNG-based new Chevrolet models here at 210 N Division Street Kellogg, ID 83837 anytime soon. Rather, the technology is still fairly new, and the American automaker is working on a solid way in which it can be worked into the rest of its lineup on a consumer level.
