1-Net signed an agreement with Burst Networks to offer operational support for their Uptime Institute certified Tier IV data centre at Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on the outskirts of Yangon, the biggest city in Myanmar.

This collaboration will allow 1-Net to extend its extensive data centre knowledge and capabilities to design, develop and provide all-the-time operation support to Burst Network’s new data centre in Myanmar. The objective is to support Burst Networks by offering the highest level of data centre security, network best practices and reliability when they deliver their services to their clients’ mission-critical operations. This facility is Myanmar’s first Tier IV data centre certified Uptime Institute; which is the most stringent specification in terms of redundancy, fault tolerance and availability that yields service availability of almost 100 percent.

According to Ka Vin, Managing Director of 1-Net Singapore Pte Ltd, “We are glad to work with Burst Networks to support their data centre operations in Myanmar. It is 1-Net’s inaugural collaboration in Myanmar and we see the immense potential for data centre business in this emerging market. We are confident that we can support Burst Networks to operate this facility with our extensive years of experience in data centre operations.”

Daniel R Michener, CEO of Burst Networks also said that, “We believe that good data centre operations are as critical as the facility’s infrastructure, therefore we have chosen 1-Net to support the operation of our world-class facility. With 1-Net, we know we are in very good hands given the team’s expertise in the data center industry. As Myanmar is drawing the interest of investors from around the world, we recognize the importance to build up the network infrastructure in the region to benefit our customers in the long run.”

1-Net and Burst Networks are also advancing network connectivity between 1-Net’s data centre in Singapore and Burst’s data centre in Myanmar. The two data centres will be connected by a network operated by Campana Group Pte Ltd, which comprises of two direct and diverse submarine and terrestrial routes to provide a robust nationwide network to their customers.

Dr. Myo Ohn, CEO of Campana Group cited, “This high-speed datacentre corridor is unprecedented and will support many value-added services on this platform. With this seamless connection and one network model both Burst and 1-Net are able to achieve the lowest latency and highest quality link for their customers.”

Burst will also serve as Myanmar’s first Internet Exchange, connecting international networks to local operators and ISPs.  This exchange known as “Burst Connectivity Hub” will also support a Transmission Facility created to host satellite and cable termination facilities and fully redundant systems as well as C-Band and Ka-Band satellite facilities.
