Sony Sold 2.1 Million PlayStation 4 Consoles in November

President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House took to the PlayStation Blog early this morning to announce that 2.1 million PlayStation 4′s flew off the shelves in 32 countries around the world in November. Sony will only need to sell 900,000 units through the holidays to meet their internal prediction of 3 million units sold in 2013.

Sony’s strong launch provides much-needed evidence that consumers still care about dedicated gaming consoles in 2013. It’s still a bit too early to declare any victor in the 2013 console war, though.

Reddit User Compiling List of Xbox One Improvements, Microsoft’s Major Nelson Responds

While both consoles launched with a laundry list of software glitches and occasionally clunky interfaces, Microsoft’s Xbox One has been getting more than its fair share of criticisms across the internet today. What started with this thread on Reddit ended with the creation of xboxfeedback.com, a community-driven site that chronicles the issues consumers have with Microsoft’s new system.

While Microsoft hasn’t commented on the site (they are probably kicking themselves for not reserving the xboxfeedback.com domain as I write this), community manager Major Nelson did post a response in a separate Reddit thread that raises issue with the changes Microsoft made to the Xbox Live Party system. Nelson promises that top men at Microsoft have discussed the issue and that a solution will be implemented “soon.”

Apparent Fallout 4 Teaser Site Updated, Prompts Rampant Fan Speculation

After a mysterious launch last month, Bethesda Softworks’ mysterious countdown site just got more explicitly Fallout-related. The site, once just a countdown clock and a Morse Code message counting down to December 11th, now has multiple Morse Code messages, a short coded message, and the words, “Nuclear winter has come.” The mention of nuclear winter almost assures that the December 11th announcement is Fallout-related, as the series was originally branded as a “post-nuclear role playing game.”

The website has fueled rampant fan speculation about the contents of the next Fallout game. If you want to get lost in the excitement, check out this Google Doc.
