As for the meteor that flew over Chelyabinsk in Russia this morning...
I'm sure you've all seen videos of this spectacular event; the meteor was the size of a 10 ton truck... and another asteroid is passing very close to Earth this Friday evening, the size of a small swimming pool. Here are some Photoshop responses from Russian sources regarding the first event:

Russia is full of interesting military installations (shown here are the Duga-3 Radar System and the Don-2N Radar futuristic enclosure), yet it was impossible to track this celestial visitor, as it was obscured by the Sun:
