Knights, the UK’s first private equity backed commercial law firm, scooped their first award since investment at the prestigious Modern Law Awards ceremony held at The Dorchester last night.

Knights was crowned the winner of the ‘Innovation of the year’ award for their Real Estate Asset Management Service (REAMS) which was developed to ensure the lease process for the real estate sector is as efficient as possible ensuring access to properties is quick and cost-effective. The award recognised a unique approach that goes beyond a single product or service success within the legal sector.

Knights was short-listed in 2 categories, ‘ABS – over 100 employees’ and ‘Innovation of the year.’

David Beech, Managing Partner, commented “we are delighted to win the award for ‘Innovation’, this is a great achievement and our first award since investment and being granted our ABS licence earlier this year. In the real estate sector, timing is business-critical, particularly in these difficult economic times and REAMS can reduce ‘time to trading’ by around 6 weeks.

The Eclipse Proclaim Modern Law Awards 2013 were launched to celebrate and identify sparkling talent and success in entrepreneurship, market development, business management and best practice in the modern legal services arena.

These exclusive awards reflect the ever-increasing reorganisation, new legal entities and business dynamism of legal service providers since the Legal Services Act came into force. The Modern Law Awards offer a unique and timely opportunity to celebrate not only innovative business leaders but those changing the face of business strategy and development, regulation management and client care throughout the organisation – for both short and long-term gain.
