This is it—the last official weekend of summer in the Hamptons is already underway! The South Fork is absolutely busting at the seams with events and activities for Labor Day weekend and there’s no shortage of choices. We’ve collected these 10 things to do in the Hamptons on Labor Day weekend help you plan.

Friday, August 30

“A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” at Bay Street Theatre
8 p.m.

Book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart. Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Musical Director Ethyl Will. Directed and Choreographed by Milgrom Dodge. Sag Harbor Farmer’s Market

In front of Sag Harbor Yacht Club on Bay Street, Sag Harbor

Now celebrating its 50th year, the Sag Harbor Farmers Market is the perfect place to pick up your local produce and foodie fare. Pick up a weekend’s worth of organic veggies and legumes from our East End farms, artisanal sea salt and cheeses, local wines, empanadas, preserves and regional wines from local purveyors. You might even spot an A-list celeb or two while you’re there!

Montauk Historic Bike Ride
9 a.m.–noon (ish)

Meet at Montauk Library parking lot, 871 Montauk Highway (Route 27) in Montauk

Jackson Pollack Family Drip Painting

Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center, 830 Springs Fireplace Road, East Hampton

Have fun and learn about the East End’s most legendary painter with this hands-on experience. Directed by children’s book author, Joyce Raimondo, children and adults will tour the home and studio of famous Abstract Expressionist painters Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, followed by an opportunity to make your own drip paintings outside on the beautiful property overlooking Accabonic Harbor. 67th Annual Shinnecock Indian Powwow
10 a.m.

Shinnecock Reservation, off Old Montauk Highway in Southampton

Starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 30 and running through Monday, September 2, this annual Native American festival and show includes more than 100 tribes, music and dance performances, sunset fire lighting, smoke dances, native arts and crafts and native foods vendors . Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids, seniors and the disabled. Kids age 5 and under enter free. Parking is free. No pets.

Chuck Close: Recent Works
11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Guild Hall, 158 Main Street in East Hampton Village

Recent and new paintings by worl renowned Hamptons painter Chuck Close are on display at Guild Hall. Check out his fascinating and perplexing images of artists and friends, including Cindy Sherman, Roy Lichtenstein, Lou Reed, Kara Walker, and others. Chuck Close was the recipient of the 1995 Guild Hall Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Award Winner in the Visual Arts. Also open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 1. Check out work by Southampton sculptor Joel Perlman while you’re there. Admission is a bargain at $7.

Broadway’s legendary song and dance man hits the stage showcasing highlights from his nine-time Tony Award-winning career and celebrating 50 years on the Great White Way. The Hampton Classic Horse Show
All Day

240 Snake Hollow Road, Bridgehampton

The biggest end-of-summer event in the Hamptons, The Hampton Classic Horse Show, concludes on Sunday following a week of exciting competition, exhibition, celebrities, shopping and so much more.

Highlighting the day is the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup, a qualifying competition for the 2014 Longines FEI World Cup Final in Lyon, France next April and the new Longines Rider Challenge that will award $30,000 to the rider who accumulates the most points in the horse show’s Open Jumper division.

The $10,000 Hermès Hunter Classic for junior and amateur-owner riders and a $25,000 Hampton Classic Show Jumping Derby also top off this week of outstanding competition. And keep an eye out for major star power in the stands!

5th Annual Westhampton Festival of the Arts
11 a.m.–6 p.m. (10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday)

Great Lawn, 35 Main Street, Westhampton Beach

The nation’s number-44 ranked fine art festival returns to Westhampton Beach with another cast of spectacular artists and artwork. The Westhampton Festival of the Arts has emerged as one of America’s top fine art events, annually placing in the Top 50 fine art festivals nationally. It also is the largest fine art festival on Long Island. Come explore the world of art in the breathtaking and creations of painters, jewelers, photographers, sculptors and woodworkers. Purchase spectacular original works by artisans working in glass, ceramics, fiber art, metalwork and mixed-media. You’re bound to find something to remember your Hamptons summer! Monday, September 2

Shark Keeper Program at LI Aquarium
3:30 p.m.

Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center, 431 East Main Street, Riverhead

Before or after your Labor Day cookout, drop by the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead for this unique event! Get up close and very personal with the aquarium’s largest exhibit and its biggest predators with the new Shark Keeper program. After each participant prepares to feed the sharks and other fishes in the 120,000-gallon Lost City of Atlantis Exhibit, they will then get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to pole feed our sand tiger sharks! Participants will also experience a tour of other behind-the-scenes animal care work areas and take home a real-life shark tooth. $75 ticket (Members: $65) includes aquarium admission.
