This is it—the last official weekend of summer in the Hamptons is already underway! “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” at Bay Street Theatre

Montauk Historic Bike Ride

67th Annual Shinnecock Indian Powwow

Shinnecock Reservation, off Old Montauk Highway in Southampton
Starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 30 and running through Monday, September 2, this annual Native American festival and show includes more than 100 tribes, music and dance performances, sunset fire lighting, smoke dances, native arts and crafts and native foods vendors . Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids, seniors and the disabled. Kids age 5 and under enter free. Parking is free. No pets.
Chuck Close: Recent Works

Guild Hall, 158 Main Street in East Hampton Village
Recent and new paintings by worl renowned Hamptons painter Chuck Close are on display at Guild Hall. Check out his fascinating and perplexing images of artists and friends, including Cindy Sherman, Roy Lichtenstein, Lou Reed, Kara Walker, and others. Chuck Close was the recipient of the 1995 Guild Hall Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Award Winner in the Visual Arts. Also open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 1. Check out work by Southampton sculptor Joel Perlman while you’re there. Admission is a bargain at $7.

The Hampton Classic Horse Show

The biggest end-of-summer event in the Hamptons, The Hampton Classic Horse Show, concludes on Sunday following a week of exciting competition, exhibition, celebrities, shopping and so much more.
Highlighting the day is the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup, a qualifying competition for the 2014 Longines FEI World Cup Final in Lyon, France next April and the new Longines Rider Challenge that will award $30,000 to the rider who accumulates the most points in the horse show’s Open Jumper division.
The $10,000 Hermès Hunter Classic for junior and amateur-owner riders and a $25,000 Hampton Classic Show Jumping Derby also top off this week of outstanding competition. And keep an eye out for major star power in the stands!
5th Annual Westhampton Festival of the Arts

The nation’s number-44 ranked fine art festival returns to Westhampton Beach with another cast of spectacular artists and artwork. The Westhampton Festival of the Arts has emerged as one of America’s top fine art events, annually placing in the Top 50 fine art festivals nationally. It also is the largest fine art festival on Long Island. Come explore the world of art in the breathtaking and creations of painters, jewelers, photographers, sculptors and woodworkers. Shark Keeper Program at LI Aquarium

Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center, 431 East Main Street, Riverhead
Before or after your Labor Day cookout, drop by the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead for this unique event! Get up close and very personal with the aquarium’s largest exhibit and its biggest predators with the new Shark Keeper program. After each participant prepares to feed the sharks and other fishes in the 120,000-gallon Lost City of Atlantis Exhibit, they will then get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to pole feed our sand tiger sharks! Participants will also experience a tour of other behind-the-scenes animal care work areas and take home a real-life shark tooth. $75 ticket (Members: $65) includes aquarium admission.
