Dandelion Patina readers, I have a treat for you today! I am sharing our blog of the month feature for October! If you are new to DP, this is a new feature on the blog. I am selecting a favorite blogger each month and asking them to join us for a little Q & A. You can check out A Burst of Beautiful BOTM feature for September as well.

So, without further ado I introduce you to Ashley over at Little Glass Jar! Ashley participated in our fun Pumpkin Palooza blog hop event with Country Living Magazine and created these amazingly adorable pumpkin plate chargers, and this DIY got her a feature on Instagram as well as the Country Living Magazine website! You can also find her contributing to the blog, Live Laugh Rowe monthly. Oh and she just recently started co-hosting the Brag-worthy Thursday link party with some amazing blogging friends! Whew…she is one busy gal isn’t she?

Isn’t she just so stinkin’ cute?

What an average day is like at The Little Glass Jar blog homestead:

An average day at the Little Glass Jar homestead varies day to day! During the week I work a full time corporate job that takes up most of my day, so anything you see on the blog is done around that schedule. On a typical weekday I get home from work in the late afternoon, cook dinner, do any cleaning/laundry and errand running, then I will sit down with my laptop either in my office or snuggled up in my favorite chair to get some blog work done. During the week I mostly work on sending/answering emails, website maintenance (well, trying to figure it out at least!), editing pictures, and writing posts. The weekends are usually reserved for getting my projects built, cooking recipes, taking pictures (weather permitted!) and all the hands on work. Sundays are my most productive days, especially since I have my husband around to help out with a lot of my DIY ideas, he’s a pretty crucial part of Little Glass Jar!

Your favorite space in your home and why?

For a while my favorite space in our home was our dining room, but recently I have been loving our office! It is full of my favorite flea market finds and the whole makeover is coming together so nicely! I’ve used really dark blue-ish grays mixed with pops of white and different textures like galvanized metals and natural wood. I’ve wanted to make it a space that I love to work in, and I’ve already found myself spending some late nights in there just enjoying the room while I blog.

Favorite DIY project and why?

My favorite DIY project by far has been my office desk makeover. I took a very modern, simple desk from Target, painted it white and added wood planks to the top for a very farmhouse table look. We even added a little crystal knob to the drawer for more character. I love recycling old furniture into something new.  I also try to reuse before I throw out a piece because I am so picky about what I buy, why not customize it exactly how I want it myself!

What goals do you have for your home in terms of decorating, projects, etc?

Right now I am trying to tackle one room at a time. However, I have complete ADD when it comes to decorating! I will start one room, then jump around to a few others before completing the original room I was focused on. I have yet to call any room “done,” but are they ever really done?! So right now my goal is to show completed (for now) room reveals for our office and our guest room. Then I hope to start on a few bigger projects like our living room. I have so so many ideas for each room, but it’s such a process for me! I know exactly what I want, and sometimes it takes a while to find the right pieces to fit my vision.

What is your decorating style?

I would describe my decorating style as modern farmhouse with a mixture of vintage flea market finds. I love the clean farmhouse look with a lot of white ironstone, wood texture, neutral/natural colors, but then I love old, worn, rusted and busted antiques I find at our local flea market. So not too primitive, but also not too funky vintage, if that makes sense!

If you could meet one blogger, who would that be and what would you say to her/him?

Oh my, I have a list of bloggers I would love to meet! I think there is so much talent out there in this blogging community, and some of these ladies have been such an inspiration to me way before I even started my little blog! If I had to choose just one, it would probably have to be Jenna from Jenna Sue Design. Even though she is taking a break right now from the décor aspect of blogging, I always refer back to her site for ideas. Her style is spot on, and she is the queen of DIY. She is just so good at what she does.

Tell us how you started blogging, what you love about it, what is challenging for you.

I have been following home décor blogs for many years, and just started Little Glass Jar a little over a year ago. I have always had a passion for decorating/DIY and finally decided I needed a place to put it all! I didn’t expect anyone other than my parents and a few friends would follow it, so to gradually watch more and more people visit each month is mind-blowing. I love every aspect of blogging! I love that I have a creative outlet to go to outside of  my corporate job, and I love that people actually follow along! The balance of running the blog is challenging with work and everyday life, but maybe one day I will figure it out, or maybe not! It’s a huge learning experience, lots of trial and error, but totally worth it!

One detail/characteristic that makes you unique (it can be anything).

I am overly picky when it comes to decorating. Picky in the sense that when I have an idea in my head for a space, I don’t settle for anything other than what I think will work. If I envision an eight pane window painted black on a particular wall in my living room, I will not hang anything on that wall until I find that exact eight pane window. Now you see why it takes me so long to finish a room!?

What is on your bucket list?

I would love to travel more. I really enjoy extended weekends with my husband, exploring a new city neither one of use has been to. My city bucket list right now is Boston (in the fall of course), Charleston, and Seattle. And then there is Europe, that is huge on the bucket list!

What is your personal motto?

It may be cliché, but I have always, always been a firm believer that “everything happens for a reason.” I have lived by that motto my whole life. There are always things, events, aspects of life that we have no control over, but what is meant to happen will happen.

I’ll do anything to avoid…..

….taking my car to get the oil changed. I absolutely hate it! I don’t even know why, it just annoys me so much!

Favorite junk food…..

Cookies are my absolute downfall. Freshly baked…get out of here. I can’t say no.

I have a style crush on….

Jennifer Aniston.

I never leave the house without…

My keys, purse, cell…and my Taylor Swift cd.

Now, wasn’t that little Q & A fun? We all got to know Ashley just a little bit more and I love her style!
