A few people have asked me about building maps and arenas for use on RCA, so I figured I would make a reference post to tell you guys what we need and what you need to consider when making a build for a certain minigame. I have them split into three groups based on demand. These will be updated as we have need for maps.

As an added incentive, on a case to case basis, you will be paid in crowns if your map is used on the server. The amount can fluctuate depending on the size of the map, the demand for that kind of map, and the quality of that map, but can vary between 250c and 1000c.

A few considerations before making any map:

Place signs at important locations like spawns, flags, chests, etc.

Several things WILL NOT copy over, including entities (paintings, item frames, mobs), the contents of tile entities (chests, furnaces, dispensers), and the text on signs.

The build MUST be complete to be considered. Simplicity isn’t a bad thing, but a build of higher quality and complexity will have a greater standing.

Size: 50x50 to 100x100
Considerations:
Easily Negotiable
Multiple spawnpoints
Complex pathways
Mix of open areas and small spaces
Can be entirely outside, inside, or a mix

Trouble in Terrorist Town
Size: 100x100 to 200x200
Considerations:
Multiple spawnpoints
Complex pathways
Mix of open areas and small spaces
Can be entirely outside, inside, or a mix

TNT Run
Size: 50x50
Considerations:
Round arena floors work best
Several layers
Arena can be placed in the ground, so the outside of the arena does not need to be polished

Survival Games
Size: 200x200 to 250x250
Considerations:
Largescale project
Central circular area for spawning
Many paths and structures
Many chests (the plugin will fill them)
Varying heights of structures and terrain

Low Demand: Sufficient number of maps - submissions are still welcome.

MarioKart
Size: 75x75 to 150x150
Considerations:
Complex track path
Potential shortcuts
Use fences or cobblestone walls to line the track
Road should be at least 5 wide at all times
Locations for power-up boxes

BlockHunt
Size: 75x75 to 100x100
Considerations:
Spawns for Hiders, lobby for seekers
Hider block selection - should be blocks that exist throughout the map, but are never primary building blocks.
Can be interior and exterior

Quake
Size: 50x50 to 100x100
Considerations:
Game is played with speed/jump boosts and without fall damage
Many spawns (potentially 20+)
Avoid long hallways and provide many places to go from one area to another

Capture The Flag or Other PvP Arenas
Size: 100x100 to 200x200
Considerations:
Mark game-specific locations (flags, spawns, bases)
Add a variety of paths to avoid linear gameplay
Depends greatly on the gamemode, so ask if you are interested in a specific one

No Current Demand: No new maps are needed
Mob Arena
Color Shuffle
