This Sunday we are celebrating TSG Dallas Volume 3 being The Scout Guide’s 74th edition.  We thought this would be the perfect time to look back over the past four years and our Labor of Love which is The Scout Guide Dallas.

ABOUT THE SCOUT GUIDE

Founded by Christy Ford and Susie Matheson in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2010, The Scout Guide grew from a Charlottesville-focused endeavor to a collection of city guides that highlight the best of local from coast to coast. Now with more than 53 guides in print and 7 cities coming soon, The Scout Guide network continues to expand its reach and has become a trusted resource for locals and travelers.

ABOUT THE SCOUT GUIDE DALLAS

Co-editors Martha Griffin and Brittany Gaskill discovered The Scout Guide Charlottesville Fall 2011. They loved the look, paper quality, beautiful photography and most of all the concept supporting LOCAL businesses. Soon The Scout Guide Dallas was born. Brittany and Martha started SCOUTING Dallas businesses with the only other published Scout Guide at the time The Scout Guide Charlottesville. The response was amazing and local favorites such as Avant Garden, Dallas Auction Gallery, Todd Events, Kara Adam Interiors, Hortenstine Ranch Co. quickly came on board for Volume 1.

In summer of 2012,  The Scout Guide Dallas, Charleston, Charlotte, New Orleans, Northern Virginia, Aspen, San Franciso and Birmingham were all launched with TSG Dallas now being city #11 out of the current 53 publications. Volume 2 and Volume 3 followed in August of 2013 and 2014.  Readers have told us they love the concept of showcasing each town’s homegrown and independently owned businesses in a book that doesn’t look like advertising. The TSG Memberships provides: A beautiful print publication, carefully curated city blogs, and social media pages. In addition, The Scout Guide’s national blog highlights local businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs daily, giving nationwide exposure to our hometown Dallas favorites.

OUR REWARD

It is a pleasure, and an honor to meet and work with so many wonderful businesses in Dallas.  Their passion inspires us each and every day. Through print and social media avenues we take pride in highlighting local events around town, best kept secrets, local products as well as our TSG members.

The Scout Guide Dallas Volume 4 will be released late August 2015 with photography by Dallas’ best Stephen Karlisch! Want to join our network or know a fantastic local business that should be Scouted for Volume 4? Email us at Brittany@thescoutguide.com.
