With spring/summer style taunting us in every store, fashion magazine and blog, I thought it was time to pause and share a little love for the winter staples that are keeping me warm right now! This frigid polar vortex hasn’t let up and as tempting as it is to stay home and hibernate, my new Canada Goose coat gives me the courage I need to venture out in to the Great White North!

Coat: Canada Goose (Middleton Coat), Jeans: JBrand from eLUXE, Boots: Manitobah Mukluks, Hat: Aldo, Scarf: H&M, Gloves: Le Chateau

I’ve never had the pleasure of owning a Canada Goose coat before, but I’ve always wanted one of these iconic Canadian-made winter staples. I was thrilled to receive the Middleton Coat – it gives me the warmest down-filled thermal experience all the way to my calves!

You may wonder if wearing a calf-length down coat would make you look like you’re wearing a big sleeping bag, but the new Branta Collection (which includes this style) was crafted with an urban aesthetic in mind. Experience warmth, in the coldest places without sacrificing style.

Even though I’m wearing the biggest coat I could get my hands on, it still has shape with a subtly elasticized waist, fitted upper and 2-way zipper that allows me to unzip a little at the bottom to create an A-line shape. Here are few more great features of the Canada Goose Middleton Coat:

I love that I can remove the hood and the removable fur ruff is a great feature for those who prefer not to wear fur. You can still enjoy the benefits of the extreme weather outerwear that’s kept Canada Goose going strong for over 50 years. It really is the warmest coat I’ve ever owned.

In addition to the outstanding warmth, I love the little features, like the fleece-lined stretch cuffs that fit snugly over my gloves/mittens to keep the cold air and snow out. I wish all winter coats had this option – if I don’t want to wear the cuffs, I can simply tuck them into the sleeve.

Honourable mention has to go to my trusty Manitobah Mukluks – I’ve put these babies to the test this winter and they’re still going strong. Warm, waterproof and even though I’ve worn them to walk my dog everyday this winter, they’re just as comfortable as the day I first slipped them on. Like walking on a cloud – and they work perfectly with the length of my Canada Goose coat!

So even though this winter sucks and feels like it’s never going to end…

…at least Canada Goose coats keep you toasty and warm (even when the air hurts your face and you consider relocating to Florida ever other day). You may even find yourself doing this…

So BIG thanks to Canada Goose for making this cold weather and snow a little more bearable. My dog Pixel also thanks you because I’m warm enough to keep walking her everyday
