Since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
The poor, mostly Black city of Flint, Michigan has had its water poisoned, not by terrorists but by politicians, who claimed they were saving taxpayer money. When it became obvious the water wasn’t right, they dismissed all critics. The water stinks, is discolored and tainted with lead, because the city failed to add anti-corrosion treatment so that lead from city pipes leached into the water originating in the long-polluted Flint River. Residents turned in desperation to a team at Virginia Tech University led by Prof. Marc Edwards, second from right, who in 2001 discovered similar lead pollution in the Washington, D.C. water supply – which was also denied by politicians trying to save money. Lead stunts the intellectual development of children for the rest of their lives; there is no cure. Fixing the infrastructure problems alone may cost upwards of a billion dollars, amid calls for the governor of Michigan, who appointed the city overseer and state environmental officials, to resign or even be jailed. Abraham laughed at God’s promise of a rejuvenated sex life at 100 years old. But that didn’t bother God, who’s big enough to be laughed at. (Occasionally. By his friends. If they’re lucky.)

God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, “Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up, and from the fragments of the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, they filled twelve baskets. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, “This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world.”
When Jesus realized that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
