OnePlus is well known for its affordable yet well spec’d smartphones, and probably delivers value for money like no other company. However, even the Chinese company is being hit by a changing of the carrier market in the United States and has responded with its own installment payment method to purchase its devices.
Times are changing and while OnePlus is not part of carrier networks in the U.S., the company understands the market is changing. Carriers are stopping the subsidizing of smartphones, meaning consumers need to front up full prices for devices from the start. This is pushing consumers to more affordable devices, which is why the flagship market declined in 2015.
Companies are turning to their own upgrade promotions and installment payments to help entice consumers, and OnePlus is the latest. The company’s deal means you can pay installment on any purchase over $99.
For example, OnePlus 2 can be grabbed on 18 monthly payments starting at $22.60 a month. The OnePlus X can be bought by making monthly payments of $16.12 for 18 months.
