The Donald was summoned for jury duty and today, amongst a flurry of media, he showed up to report for duty. Here are some inside shots from those with whom he served.

Donald Trump arrived at a Manhattan courthouse for jury duty on Monday morning in true Donald Trump fashion: rolling up in a limo and making his way through a crushing throng of reporters.

He stopped to fist-bump one of the many bystanders before making his way up the stone steps to the courthouse.

He took a break from nonstop campaigning for the GOP nomination to fulfill his civic responsibilities. But that didn’t stop the media circus.

Special security was called in as the Republican frontrunner waited to hear whether he would be selected as a juror. Court officials told reporters the heightened security was typical for high-profile potential jurors. And ’tis the season: George W. Bush reported for jury duty in Dallas earlier this month.

Trump waited in a security line before heading into the jury room, joining around 75 others.

Jury assembly supervisor Irene Laracuenta told the possible jurors that their commitment would be either one day or one civil trial, depending on whether they were selected. But she was quick to point out that despite Trump’s high-profile persona, all jurors are viewed as equals.

“No one — no one — gets special treatment,” Laracuenta said.

Some of Trump’s fellow jurors were obviously enthralled, as evidenced by a Snapchat circulating of The Donald, giving his best pouty face. (Peter Hamby, who shared the screenshot in a tweet, is Snapchat’s heads of news.) It’s unclear whether he is napping or not, though in a Snapchat story, he appears to be nodding his head from side to side.

Later in the morning, four uniformed court officers guarded the entranceway to a hallway as Trump took a 20-minute breather to talk on his phone in the hall. Upon returning to the jury assembly room, he took a selfie with an attorney he encountered and signed a sketch artist’s drawing. He continued to tweet intermittently throughout the day, too.

Last week, Trump said he was “looking forward to appearing” for jury duty. The real estate mogul and reality TV star has been called previously, but didn’t appear; a spokesman has said Trump never received the summonses because they had been sent to the wrong address.

Trump wasn’t the only famous face in the Manhattan courthouse on Monday morning, though. Saturday Night Live cast member Bobby Moynihan was also in the same jury pool as Trump.

Mashable was as source for this post.
