Deimosimine: Press Release: “As production continues on the much-anticipated horror/creature feature DEIMOSIMINE, director Chad Armstrong is giving us a first look at the new poster and creature design.
Poster design created by Dennis Preston (facebook.com/prestonperspectives).
Makeup Effects will be handled by John Harris, and his shop FX Magic is creating the creature. Photo of the creature ‘Mr. Ballz’ is of an in-process sculpt.
The film stars newcomer Rhiana Howell, Ashley Coughlin, and Tom Hagale.
Short synopsis:
A heroin addict undergoes a radically new kind of treatment for her condition, but the drug ‘Deimosimine’ instead creates for her a world of horror and blood. Is she the victim? The monster? Or both?
Deimosimine is scheduled for release later this year and is offering anyone who pre-orders any of the items at Deimosimine.com an eventual reimbursement. They are still raising funds to complete the creature which after everything is said and done will cost over 8K, which is a majority of the budget on a small budget film. Chad and Writer/Producer Andrew Thompson has vowed to not take any profits until backers, cast and crew are paid back.
Here’s how the Director himself worded it…
“Instead of starting a new crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter or Indiegogo you can pre-order perks on our official site Deimosimine.com. This allows more of the funds to go into the production and spend less on fees that make it harder to reach our budget goals. We have vowed that everyone who pre-orders the film in any format or buys a “perk” from either our initial IndieGoGo campaign or from our official site will get reimbursed before we see a dime –so not only will you get a cool version of the film, screen credit, prop, etc., you will receive a full reimbursement after the film is released! We just want to make this fucking movie!”
“The anticipation and support of the film has been eye-opening, and we wanted to do something that rewards the backers 100%. After all, without them, there would not be a film. They are supporting an idea, and the people behind that idea, without even seeing any footage! They want to be a part of something great, and we want them to be proud of it. It’s not my film, it’s not Andrew’s film, it’s OUR film — and by that I mean everyone who’s donated a buck, shared the film on social media, or did a write-up about it on their blog. We aren’t going to rush this out and have a tinfoil creature, or resort to sub-par CGI, it’s going to be EPIC!”

A Haunting in Cawdor: “American Horror Story alum Shelby Young returns to the horror genre for A Haunting in Cawdor (Uncork’d, out March 11).
Do you remember when you first heard about this project?
Shelby Young: I actually heard about it the night before I was whisked off to set. It was an unexpected, but exciting 24 hours.
How was the project presented to you?
Shelby Young: I received the script from my representation and was told to read it and get back to them as soon as possible. I did, I wanted in, and the rest is history.
Did you have to audition a couple of times before you snagged the part?
Shelby Young: No, actually, I was offered the role without ever auditioning. I credit a lot of that to Sherrie Henderson, the casting director of the film. I had been into her office for multiple other projects before filming and she really believes in me, which I’m so grateful for. It’s always nice to have someone fighting for you in this town.
What did you learn from working with Cary Elwes?
Shelby Young: He oozes professionalism and talent! I can’t even put into words what I learned, just nuances and how to handle myself on set. He’s a true legend and such a kind person, working with him was a dream!”

From the Previous Press Release: “Saw’s Cary Elwes kicks off a roll call of hot faces including Shelby Young (TV’s American Horror Story), Michael Welch (Twilight, TV’s Z Nation), and Allie Deberry (Lazer Team) in a frightening twist on Shakespeare’s Macbeth that’s being called one of the “surprises of the year” (lalafilm).
In this tense tale of psychological terror, Vivian Miller (Shelby Young) is a young twenties woman who’s serving out her jail sentence at a work release program in the Midwest. Her 90 days of probation takes her to The Cawdor Barn Theatre, a dilapidated summer stock theater run by Lawrence O’Neil (Cary Elwes). Lawrence, a failed Broadway director, is now reduced to staging amateur productions with young parolees and raging over the mistakes from his past. Vivian’s arrival in Cawdor starts a terrifying series of events that brings Lawrence’s secret past to the present.
