The history of the Republican Party being the champions of civil rights issues for African Americans has been wiped from the public consciousness. Donald Trump is going to reactivate those realities and has started a dialogue that is causing people to examine what exactly the Democratic party has been up to on the last 50 years. Not only did the Democrats fight the Republicans over abolishing slavery, but they fought restoring equality and rights to the African Americans by starting the KKK as an arm of the party and were the instruments that created and enforced the Jim Crow laws.

The Republican Party Are The True Champions of African Americans

Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton has thrown out the tired old race card that the Democrats use when they have exhausted their arguments. Her racist attacks on Donald Trump only give pause to the African American community drawing their attention to the candidates message.

There is a great deal of interest from the African American community in Donald J. Trump’s outreach. He told a crowd of thousands on Saturday that the Republican Party “must do better” at reaching out to African-Americans, using a campaign stop in Virginia to expand on his newly adopted emphasis on creating a more inclusive party:

“I fully recognize the outreach to the African-American community is an area where the Republican Party must do better. And it will do better,” the GOP nominee told a mostly white audience in the hall of the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center. “The GOP is the party of Abraham Lincoln. And I want our party to be the home of the African-American voter once again.”

The Party of Lincoln Game Changer

Donald J. Trump is sitting on a powder keg of truth and the African American community is waking up to the empty promises that have held them captive by the Democratic party for the last 50 years especially.

The key to reactivating the Republican Party as The Party of Lincoln is this truth:

The Republican Party was established to abolish slavery!

According too Wikipedia, the Republican Party, also commonly called the GOP (for “Grand Old Party“), is one of the world’s oldest extant political parties. It is the second oldest existing political party in the United States after its primary rival, the Democratic Party. It emerged in 1854 to combat the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which threatened to extend slavery into the territories, and to promote more vigorous modernization of the economy. The Party had almost no presence in the South, but by 1858 in the North it had enlisted former Whigs and former Free Soil Democrats to form majorities in nearly every Northern state.

In fact, the Civil War era, the “Radical Republicans” were given that name because they wanted to not only end slavery but also to endow the freed slaves with full citizenship, equality, and rights. The Democrats opposed this viciously at every turn.

In a compromise to attract voters, Abraham Lincoln chose Andrew Johnson, a strongly pro-Union and pro-slavery Democrat to join the ticket. After Lincoln was assassinated , Johnson represented the Democrats and sabotaged Republican efforts in Congress to recognize the civil rights of the freed slaves, and Southern Democrats continued to sabotage all such efforts for close to a century.

The 14th and 15th Amendments had 0% Democratic Support and 100% Republican support!

The 14th Amendment that brought full citizenship to the freed slaves passed in 1868 with 94% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress. Similarly, the 15th Amendment, giving freed slaves the right to vote, passed in 1870 with 100% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress.

It is surely time for a reminder of which party has always stood for freedom and which party fiercely opposes it. The difference today is the oppression of people that are dependent on subsidies and government entitlements.

The Ku Klux Klan was created primarily as an arm of the Southern Democratic Party. The Klans original mission was tied into the Democratic party’s agenda. They worked together to terrorize freed slaves and “ni**er-loving” (their words) Republicans who sympathized with them. The also enforced racist legislation using fear and intolerance.

This historical fact seems to be missing form the history books taught to children. Had the KKK been founded by Republicans, that fact would no doubt be in bold print as we have done here for the Democrats..

The American Civil Rights Union has just published a booklet on the real history of Jim Crow. Available for free at TheTruthAboutJimCrow.org, it sets the record straight on a hidden racial past that many Democrats would rather see swept under the carpet. While Richard Nixon’s “Southern Strategy” is constantly referenced in the media as a tool to attract white voters, less well remembered are Woodrow Wilson’s segregation of the entire federal civil service; FDR’s appointment of a member of the KKK to the Supreme Court; John F. Kennedy’s apathy toward civil-rights legislation; and the rise of Hillary Clinton’s mentor Robert Byrd, a former member of the KKK, to the post of Democratic leader in the Senate in the 1980s.

The The American Civil Rights Union study zooms in on the horror of Jim Crow as a system of state-enforced laws designed to relegate African-Americans to inferior status. When police enforcement proved insufficient, lynchings were used to enforce Jim Crow laws. At least 3,500 blacks were lynched during the Jim Crow years, and people were still being murdered through the mid 1960s. The most surprising fact is that political enforcement of Jim Crow was entirely in Democratic hands. The Ku Klux Klan functioned as the paramilitary wing of the Democratic party, and it was used to drive Republicans out of the South after the Civil War. Before he took up the cause of civil rights as president, Lyndon Johnson acting as Senate majority leader blocked the GOP’s 1956 civil-rights bill, and gutted Eisenhower’s 1957 Civil Rights Act. Democratic senators filibustered the GOP’s 1960 Civil Rights Act.

The historic Civil Rights Act of 1964 also had the much more support of Republicans than Democrats in both houses of Congress. 80 percent of the Republicans and 63 percent of the Democrats in the House voted in favor. 82 percent of the Republicans and 69 percent of the Democrats in the Senate voted for it.

The Democratic party is unapologetically racist in it’s founding and much of it’s history. They don’t acknowledge or apologize for their past. In fact, the Democrats at some point switched from overt racism to a subversive strategy of getting African-Americans as dependent as possible on the Democratic promise of government to secure their votes. At the same time, their message became twisted to accuse the Party of Lincoln of being racist as they promised, promised an promised, but never delivered to those they had captured to vote for them based on a foundation of lies.

Liberals saw an opening from Goldwater’s opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act and began to use the new power of the media to paint the Republican Party as racist. This has been their method ever since. This was launched while the same Republicans who overwhelmingly supported the Civil Rights Act were still in office. The Democrats wiped out a Century of the Republican’s overwhelming support the civil rights of African-Americans from the public consciousness through one media cycle and are still perpetuating their propaganda.

The Democratic strategy of black dependence has been target and effective. LBJ put into motion what has caused African Americans to routinely vote well over 90 percent Democratic for fear that Republicans will cut their government benefits and welfare programs.

Democratic support for perpetual affirmative action is part of the problem. It is the antithesis of Martin Luther King’s dream of a color-blind society. Not only is it “reverse racism,” but it is based on the premise that African Americans are incapable of competing in the free market on a level playing field. The truth is that freedom and equality are not about everyone getting the same results, but rather about everyone having equal opportunities.

Donald Trump is opening a dialogue to examine thew Democratic history of just the last 50 years that has resulted I’m much of the problems in the inner cities. Bringing the history of the two parties to light can have the effect of changing the public consciousness once again and to unite us not as separate races, but as one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!
