In a year which has offered up copious animated sequels, films with talking animals and even movies based on a game app, it's refreshing to see that Netflix is bringing beloved children's book The Little Prince back to the small, and some big screens.

It's not the first time Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 1943 novella has been adapted as a film, in fact, it's also been adapted as TV series, musicals, an opera and a stage play too.

In this new version, Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne mixes computer-animation and 3D stop-motion animation to tell a fresh tale of a little girl whose aging Aviator neighbor introduces her to an extraordinary world of the yellow-haired Little Prince that lives on a asteroid.

This whimsical billboard for the Netflix movie was snapped above the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood on August 3, 2016.

Will you be taking a nostalgic flight of fancy this weekend and be watching The Little Prince with your loved ones?
