In celebration of the 4th of July holiday, we’re taking break before our next 4-week session begins. In we bring you a week of 2-hour, single-topic classes we call “Workshops”. These are loads of fun and a great way to hone your skills in a particular area. Check out what’s on deck for next week.

This class will add dipping and flying SAFELY to your jam circle shines. You’ll build on your knowledge of technically correct jumps, throws and dips to create even more excitement in your social dancing.
Wear comfortable, loose clothing and gym shoes. (No sandels or flips flops will be permitted in class.)Pre-req: Dips & Tricks I or instructor approval

Charleston is the dance where it all began, the grand-daddy of all swing dances. It’s the partner dance that swept the nation in the 1920’s, causing everyone from schoolchildren to grandmammies to flapper girls and mobsters’ molls to get up and show off their energetic, light-hearted steps. In this class, we’ll quickly progress from the basic steps (in face-to-face position) through several variations that will have you charleston-ing up a storm, along with connection and styling tips. Pre-Reqs: Swing II

Our Wedding Dance Group Class,”Dancing Together” Begins Wednesday
Big City Swing specializes in working with couples who are preparing for their wedding. With our instruction, you and your fiancee will feel confident, graceful and relaxed during your first dance.
The wedding dance is not Swing dance, but a modified Foxtrot that is suitable for both contemporary songs and wedding classics.
3-Week Group Class – Wednesdays 8-9pm

Resident Instructor – $60 per couple, $275 for 5-pack of lessons
Senior Instructor – $75 per couple, $350 for 5-pack of lessons

Grad Night is Tonight!
All May Swing I graduates are invited to attend and celebrate! It’s about that time! Tonight is Grad Night at Fizz Bar & Grill. This is a great opportunity for you to show off your new moves and get in some extra dancing!
The doors open at 9:30pm and all the graduates will be on hand at 10:30pm for our special dance.
