Host gator the webhosting giant has been sold for $225 million USD to Endurance
International Group. According to reports, the CEO of EIG Mr Hari
Ravichandran offered the amount to hostgatorā€™s Chief Executive Officer Brent Oxley and right now the deal is already signed. The deal came
unexpected and a lot of people are surprise about the sudden sale especially
when there was no specific reason for that. Although, this is a major happening
in the web hosting industry.

I have been seeing hostgator all over the internet and believe me, i never knew something like this will come up or do you? this is indeed a shocking news but i still think $225 millions is not a small amount and it's worth the price.

About Endurance International Group (EIG)

EIG is a business group of web hosting companies
and over a period of time, they have acquired many popular web hosting company
and domain registrar. Among the group of companies bought by EIG are Fatcow,
iPage, VPSLInk, Bluehost etc and now EIG got Hostgator too. Hostgator has been one of
the top best webhosting company with a lot of customers currently over 400,000 globally and now that it has
been finally sold out to EIG, the company will really hold ground in webhosting
market. The outcome of the deal between EIG and Hostgator is not revealed yet, but
however, considering the effects on the prior webhosting companies acquired,
they will surely make impact on the web presence.

Among the complete list of hosting companies acquired by EIG, only
Bluehost is considered as one of the top hosting, now that Hostgator has joined the list, i wonder which webhost would be more reliable. The big question now is how EIG will be able to manage the Hostgator setup which is already having over 400,000 customers currently. i just hope they don't crash in and get their customers upset with poor service rendering. ahap! you can see how people are discussing their feelings about this deal on Webhosting forum discussion here.

There is still a big question on how EIG plans to manage their business. well my humble opinion is that, EIG should have picked one among its huge list of webhost and compete by having a good technology and rendering good services instead of buying any successful webhosting company that tuck its head up. Bluehost wasn't so bad anyway.
