IN THE NEWS
Reports that Pretty Little Liars is ending after Season 7 are incorrect. Variety published the news on Tuesday with quotes from show creator Marlene King. When asked if the five-year time jump gave the ABC Family series more legs to continue and how long she’d like the show to go on, King responded, “at the end of Season 7.” King promptly took to Twitter to clarify: “What I said was "This Uber A story that starts on January 12 will end when season 7 ends." I did not say PLL will end. Just sayin 4 real.”
It looks like it’s going to be a Merry Christmas for Teresa Giudice. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was released from federal prison on Wednesday, after serving nearly 15 months at Connecticut’s Danbury Federal Correctional Institution. According to The Wrap, Bravo TV has already resumed filming Giudice, her husband Joe and their four children. It’s uncertain whether the footage will be included in the new season of Housewives or featured as its own multi-part special.
Adam Fierro is out as executive producer of Narcos for Season 2. Fierro took over for Chris Brancato, who exited as showrunner in April for an overall deal at ABC Studios. Jose Padilha and Eric Newman are returning as EPs and working with the series’ writing team on the season. The Netflix drama returns in 2016.
Julie Andrews is back to host From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2016 on PBS‘s Great Performances airing Friday, January 1 at 2:30p and 7p. It’s Andrews’ seventh appearance on the special, which features the Vienna Philharmonic under the direction of Mariss Jansons from Vienna’s Musikverein. Jansons is returning for the third time to conduct the concert. The Vienna Boys’ Choir and soloists of the Vienna State Ballet also appear for the gala evening.
Two relatively unknowns have been named as Chris Evans‘ sidekicks on BBC’s revamped Top Gear: German racing driver Sabine Schmitz and motoring journalist Chris Harris. The move comes after former hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond left the show earlier this year. In addition, on Tuesday, it was reported that EP Lisa Clark is leaving the show and that script editor Tom Ford is exiting at the end of his contract.

DIGITAL DOINGS
T-Mobile launched a feature last month that allowed users access to unlimited streaming of Netflix, HBO, and Hulu. YouTube was not part of the deal and now the Google-owned entity is accusing T-Mobile of degrading the quality of its videos as well as those from other providers. A YouTube exec told the Wall Street Journal that T-Mobile is “throttling all video services,” which would be a violation of net-neutrality rules. Regulators have asked T-Mobile to come to Washington and explain their process and policies.
Apple TV is now able to service 360-degree video. Disney-funded DR platform Littlestar has launched an app on Apple TV that allows viewers to dive into VR experiences from Disney, Discovery, National Geographic, and Red Bull.
Nielsen’s top apps of the year have been released. Facebook took two of the top three slots, clocking in with 126,702,000 average unique users in the #1 spot. YouTube pulled in as the second most-used app of the year with 97,627,000 average unique users. That’s up from last year’s eight-place finish.
SPEAKING OF SPORTS
Steph Curry of the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors is the new face of the NBA, succeeding LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s the reigning MVP fans come early for, to watch his pregame dribbling routines and shoot-around. But what makes Curry so popular? His everyman quality, said ESPN analyst Jalen Rose during a media call with P.J. Carlesimo previewing ESPN/ABC’s slate of five NBA games Christmas Day, including ABC’s telecast of Curry’s Warriors against James’ Cavaliers (5 p.m. ET). Jalen added that at 6’3,” 190 pounds, Curry could be your neighbor, vs. a physical marvel like the 6’8,” 250 pound James. Not to mention a giant, like the 7’1” 325 pound Shaquille O’Neal.
Visa Checkout unveiled a funny new TV commercial starring everybody’s favorite party boy: tight end Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots. It’s a typical spot featuring a sports star being mobbed by adoring fans and applauded at restaurants. However, the person wearing the jersey is actually Rob’s brother, Dan Gronkowski. Turns out Dan bought Rob’s jersey online using Visa Checkout. Ad agency BBDO created the spot.
Campus Insiders is teaming with MLBAM and 120 Sports to add digital-only content to the live stream of the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl between Nevada and Colorado State Dec. 29.
