Fox News contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash have been suspended for two weeks, after remarks they made about President Barack Obama following his address on terrorism on Sunday. While appearing on Fox Business Network, Peters using the words “a total p***y” to describe the President’s remarks, and Dash said the President didn’t “give a s**t” about terrorism on Fox News’ Outnumbered. “Earlier today, Fox contributors made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air,” said Bill Shine, senior executive vice president of programming for both networks, in a statement. “FoxBusiness Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks.”

IN THE NEWS

VH1 has announced that the upcoming sixth season of Mob Wives, premiering Wednesday, January 13 at 8p, will be its last. Look for Mob Wives: The Last Stand to return the focus exclusively to where it all began, New York City.

Scott Buck (Dexter, Six Feet Under) has been tapped as showrunner/executive producer for Netflix series Marvel’s Iron Fist. “Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet,” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb.

MSNBC is adding a politics-themed program from Bloomberg Television to its early evening lineup. With All Due Respect, featuring journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, will continue to run on the Bloomberg cable network. However, in January, it will begin airing on MSNBC weeknights at 6p, one hour after airing on Bloomberg.

Nominations for The 58th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Monday. Kendrick Lamar led with 11, followed by Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, who each garnered seven. Music producer/songwriter Max Martin received six nominations, while mastering engineer Tom Coyne, rapper Drake and engineers/mixers Serban Ghenea and John Hanes each earned five. Ceremony airs Monday, February 15 at 8p on CBS.

Renowned artists gathered in Washington, D.C. over the weekend to salute this year’s honorees at The 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors. The ceremony will air Tuesday, December 29 at 9p on CBS. Stephen Colbert hosted the festivities, which were attended by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Honorees included director/producer George Lucas, Rita Moreno, Seiji Ozawa, Cicely Tyson and Carole King.

Turner Classic Movies and Fathom Events are continuing their partnership to bring monthly screenings of their TCM Big Screen Classics series to select cinemas nationwide throughout 2016. Studio partners for the new year include Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox. Among the films scheduled for release: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Ten Commandments and On the Waterfront.

The Force will be with TBS, when Conan welcomes the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie and director J.J. Abrams will join host Conan O’Brien on his late-night talk show Thursday, December 17 at 11p.

Stephen Falk, who recently signed an overall pact with FX, has set his first two projects. He’s re-teaming with You’re the Worst writers for two comedies. The first, an untitled and semi -autobiographical project from Alison Bennett, centers on a dissatisfied TV writer who returns to her rural Pennsylvania hometown to live the simple life. The second, Join Me from Franklin Hardy and Shane Kosakowski, is based on the novel of the same name by Danny Wallace.

ITV Studios America has finalized an exclusive producer overall deal with Assembly Entertainment, reuniting ITV president Philippe Maigret with Christina Wayne. Said Maigret, “Christina and her team were tantamount to my success at Endemol when I signed them as my first pod deal and their keen sense of identifying great material and attracting stellar talent consistently impresses me."

Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network has partnered with Mexican chef Alfredo Oropeza and Spain’s Canal Cocina to promote good nutrition among US Hispanics. The deal strengthens HITN’s programming with content like Al Natural, which offers ideas for enjoying a more balanced life, and favorite episodes of Chef Oropeza en Casa, a cooking show that teaches viewers to prepare healthful food at home.

COMING UP

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton appears on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday, December 10 at 12:35a on NBC. It’s the Secretary of State’s first appearance on the talk show.

Ready those roses: Ben Higgins‘ search for love on The Bachelor debuts Monday, January 4 at 8p on ABC, and the show has released the identities of the 28 bachelorettes hoping to capture his heart. This year’s group includes a single mom of two young daughters; identical twins who are best friends; a battle-tested war veteran, and a television news anchor.

Lifetime original movie Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart, starring Lex Scott Davis (The Exes) as the R&B star, premieres Saturday, January 23 at 8p. Based on Braxton’s memoir, Unbreak My Heart, it follows the singer’s journey from her discovery by producers L.A. Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds to her battle with Lupus. The special, Beyond The Headlines: Toni Braxton, bows immediately following at 10p.

NEW SERIES

It’s a weight-loss journey with a twist. Professional fitness trainers accept a challenge to gain weight in order to learn what it’s like to lose it alongside their obese clients in the new A&E docuseries, Fit to Fat to Fit. Show premieres Tuesday, January 12 at 10p.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s newest primetime series, It’s Not You, It’s Men, is set to bow Saturday, January 23 at 9p. The weekly show stars Tyrese Gibson and Rev Run as they share their insights on men, love, relationships and marriage, with featured celebrity guests offering their points of view as well.

Family Channel raises its voice with the premiere of Lost & Found Music Studios. From Temple Street Productions and creator Frank van Keeken, the show follows a group of aspiring musicians who are part of a unique music program. Debuts Friday, January 8 at 6p, but the net offers a special presentation of the series on Friday, December 11 at 7:30p.

RETURNING SERIES

Season seven of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen bows Saturday, January 2 at 10:30a on Food Network. The Trisha Yearwood series features a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame and down-home dinner with Reba McEntire, a Graceland visit honoring Elvis Presley with banana pancake sandwiches, and a Habitat for Humanity build.

CASTING

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has nabbed Sons of Anarchy alum Katey Sagal to play Jake’s (Andy Samberg) MIA mom. She’ll turn up in an early 2016 episode of the Fox comedy.

Justin Chatwin and Megan Ketch have joined the cast of American Gothic, a new one-hour murder mystery from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios. Series debuts summer 2016.

Veep‘s Sam Richardson has landed a guest spot on New Girl‘s upcoming fifth season. The Fox comedy returns Tuesday, January 5 at 8p.

Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls, The Good Wife) is joining Starz drama Power. She’ll appear in a multi-episode arc of the series.

GLOBAL GOINGS-ON

Entertainment One has acquired the rights to air pre-school series Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom on Russian broadcaster Carousel. To build on the increased broadcast exposure, eOne has appointed Russian licensing agent Megalicense to manage the licensing and merchandising program in Russia and the Ukraine. Show was scheduled to launch yesterday.

RATINGS

The Big Bang Theory posted a season best Live+7 in viewers and A18-49, and passed football as the #1 broadcast in week nine, according to Nielsen L+7 ratings for the week of November 16 to 22. The CBS series delivered the week’s top lift, adding +5.93 million (21.23 million from 15.30 million, Live+SD). Among A18-49, the series also had the week’s biggest lift, adding +2.4 (6.5 from 4.4, up 63 percent).

Velocity set ratings records in November, cruising to 49 consecutive weeks of growth in primetime among Men 18+ and Households, and double-digit primetime delivery and ratings gains for Men 25-54, Men 18-49, Men 18+ and Households. In addition, the season two finale of Bitchin’ Rides reached 1.29 million people (Persons 2+) on Tuesday, December 1. Overall, the show reached more than 10.5 million people (P2+) during its sophomore run.
