Kathy Griffin is officially onboard E!‘s Fashion Police as host, joining Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic. Replacing George Kotsiopoulos will be new panelist Brad Goreski (It’s a Brad Brad World). Exec producer Melissa Rivers, daughter of the late Joan Rivers, approves of the replacement. “Kathy just feels right,” said Rivers. As for Griffin, “These are some big shoes I’m going to fill,” acknowledged the comedian. “Now I just hope you will accept me for me…You celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners.”

How do you say happy birthday to a 50-year-old reindeer? CBS is using “Animagic” animation and live action footage in promos saluting the anniversary of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, featuring stars from the net’s shows interacting with Rudolph and Sam the Snowman. And CBS stations can customize the spots with their own on-air talent and logo. “Each year, we look for a unique way to have the CBS family involved in a holiday campaign,” said George Schweitzer, president, CBS Marketing Group.
CBS isn’t giving up on The McCarthys, adding two eps to its order of 13 for the freshman comedy from Sony Pictures Television and CBS Studios Television.
For those who want news in really small doses, ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir is hosting one-minute daily newscast Facecast: The One Thing on the World News Facebook page. The spot offers a roundup of “essential stories.”
Dean Cain, star of Ion‘s Merry Ex-Mas, will be helping hand out 1500 sandwiches to help feed needy New Yorkers, via an Ion partnership with the Coalition for the Homeless’s Grand Central Food Program. Donations take place at St. Bartholomew’s beginning at 5:30p, and at street locations via delivery vans. Earlier in the day, an Ion-branded food truck will deliver free food in Manhattan as part of a stunt promoting the net’s lineup of five original holiday movies. NBC, Lauren Graham (Parenthood) and Ellen DeGeneres‘ A Very Good Production are developing a show starring Graham as a late night talk host. If the project moves forward, Graham would star as well as exec produce and co-write with Liz Tuccillo (He’s Just Not That Into You).
The Idris Elba Project (wt) will feature the actor/producer pushing himself to the limit racing on land, water and air for Discovery Channel. RETURNING SHOWS
NBC’s Parks and Recreation moves from Thursdays to Tuesdays for its seventh and final season. Comedy premieres with back-to-back eps on January 13 at 8p (two nights after star Amy Poehler hosts the Golden Globes with Tina Fey), continuing to double up until a one-hour series finale February 24 at 9p. “In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to ‘event-ize’ the final season to maximize the impact of the episodes, which really do take the show to a new level,” said NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt.
Netflix announced, via “a special message from the White House” on Twitter, that its Emmy-winning House of Cards returns for season three February 27.
Lifetime’s Little Women: LA is back for season two Thursday, January 1 at 9p, with “big news about a baby on the way.” A catch-up special, including new cast interviews, airs at 8p.

RATINGS
The midseason finale of AMC’s Walking Dead on Sunday delivered 14.8 million viewers and 9.6 million among A18-49, up 23 percent and 24 percent, respectively, over last year’s corresponding episode. The zombie drama ranks as the number one show in all of television in the demo.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live was up 14 percent in total viewers and 22 percent among A18-49 the week of November 17 for its second-biggest audience this season, placing second in both categories for the week and beating NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday by 8 percent in viewers.
ABC’s Good Morning America reached new season highs for the second straight week, increasing its year-to-year leads over NBC’s Today by 8 percent in total viewers (716,000 versus 662,000) and more than doubling its lead among A25-54 (228,000 versus 87,000).
Nat Geo WILD’s fifth annual “Big Cat Week” got off to a record start Friday night (.32 P25-54, 460,000 P2+). The premiere of Man v. Lion led the night with .44 P25-54 and 637,000 P2+ to rank as the highest-rated and most-watched Friday telecast in network history.
The Saturday premiere of Hallmark’s Christmas Under Wraps averaged a 5.0HH coverage area rating and 5.8 million total viewers, according to Nielsen fast cable ratings, making it the year’s top HH rated original movie premiere in cable and the second most-watched in total viewers. On Sunday, Hallmark Hall of Fame original One Christmas Eve delivered a 3.2HH coverage area rating and 3.6 million viewers.
