Fox announced an all reality, all food Thursday for 2017, with Hell’s Kitchen moving to 8p on January 12, followed by the series launch of My Kitchen Rules. Rosewood moves from Thursdays to Fridays at 8p starting January 6, replacing MasterChef Junior.
Tucker Carlson is taking over the 7p timeslot formerly occupied by Greta Van Susteren on Fox News Channel. Brit Hume, who has filled in for Van Susteren since she left the network earlier this year, tweeted the news. Carlson makes his debut Monday, November 14.
Rumors that Donald Trump will attempt to start a media organization if he loses on Election Day gathered steam with a report from Fox News that an up-and-coming conservative media network is in development and looking for employees. A casting notice says the network is looking for hosts, reporters and right-leaning, well-spoken panelists. Trump’s camp insists he is not angling for a TV venture.
Another group of performers have been added to the 2016 American Music Awards. Both John Legend and Shawn Mendes will take solo turns on stage, while Ariana Grande will join Nicki Minaj to perform their hit, Side To Side. Fan-voted award show airs live from LA on Sunday, November 20 at 8p on ABC.
Meryl Streep will be honored with the 2017 Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 8. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the gala airs live on NBC at 8p.

CMT bought If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd (wt) from director Stephen Kijak (We Are X, Stones in Exile) and producer Passion Pictures (Searching For Sugar Man). Set to bow in 2017, the project explores the music and back story of the American band.
NBC grabbed an untitled missing persons drama from Sully writer Todd Komaarnicki. Inspired by a true story, project centers on the life of the world’s leading finder of missing persons, who’s driven by the one person he couldn’t locate, his daughter.
History ordered 20 additional episodes of Forged In Fire. The competition series, which is in its third season, has exhibited growth across key demographics, including up 11 percent in A18-49 and up 13 percent in A25-54 in Live+3 viewing.
ABC ordered pilot Lakeside VA. The comedy, which hails from Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Todd Spiewak’s That’s Wonderful Productions and Warner Bros. TV, focuses on a team of underfunded VA hospital employees and the new hotshot female chief of surgery who turns them into an A team.
E! Entertainment greenlit a second season of Famously Single. This time around, Karina Smirnoff (Dancing With the Stars), Chad Johnson (The Bachelorette), Malika Haqq (Dash Dolls), Ronnie Ortiz-Magro (Jersey Shore), British model David Mcintosh, Tiffany Pollard (I Love New York), Calum Best (Famously Single) and Dorothy Wang (#RichKids of Beverly Hills) enter relationship-rehab. Premieres on E! in 2017.
ELECTION NIGHT NEWS
The View co-hosts Joy Behar, Jedediah Bila, Candace Cameron Bure, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin are teaming up for The View Live Election Special, airing Tuesday, November 8 at 9p on Lifetime. Special correspondent SuChin Pak will provide live reports from the ground in Times Square, while ABC News’ Juju Chang shares up-to-the-minute election results. The 2½ hour broadcast includes former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, Kathy Najimy, Vivica A. Fox, Mario Cantone, D.L.Hughley, comedian/Donald Trump impersonator Anthony Atamanuik, and more.
MTV is planning live 360-coverage of Election Night 2016 that includes TV, digital and social screens designed to engage Millennial voters. Beginning at 3p and into primetime, MTV, MTV2, mtvU and MTV Live will feature MTV News live break-ins every hour from the network’s studio and the candidates’ headquarters. The networks will also go live as soon as the President-Elect is named.
CBS News will deliver a full day and night of up-to-the-minute original reporting on television, CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 live streaming news service, and all CBS News platforms on Tuesday, November 8. CBS News will provide seven hours of multi-platform, division-wide coverage of Campaign 2016: Election Night starting at 7p on CBS and live streamed on CBSN. Coverage kicks off on CBSN at 6a and CBS This Morning at 7a. Scott Pelley, Norah O’Donnell, John Dickerson, Gayle King, Charlie Rose, Elaine Quijano and Bob Schieffer will lead CBS News’ comprehensive coverage and analysis with a team of news journalists reporting from across the U.S. and around the world.
Viceland is going live on election night with late night hosts Desus & Mero at 11p. After just three weeks on the air, the free-form, unscripted half-hour of comedic commentary is expanding to a live hour to cover presidential election results from VICE’s Brooklyn headquarters.
NEW & RETURNING SERIES
Two months and counting until Olivia Pope and Associates head back to ABC. The midseason premiere of Scandal is set for Thursday, January 19. The net’s TGIT lineup will return with all-new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy at 8p, Scandal at 9p, and How to Get Away with Murder at 10p.
Lifetime debuts Vivica’s Black Magic on Wednesday, January 4 at 10p. Series centers on Vivica A. Fox as she launches her newest business venture, Black Magic, an exotic male revue and ultimate ladies’ night experience featuring her magic men.
Suits returns for the back half of its sixth season on USA Network on Wednesday, January 25 at 10p. The series is the #1 scripted cable program of 2016 in its timeslot in all key demos.
The sophomore season of Married by Mom and Dad, the series where singles throw their parents into the dating pool to find them a spouse, debuts Sunday, November 27 at 10p on TLC.
Smithsonian Channel recounts major news events with rare footage in The Lost Tapes. The first installment, The Lost Tapes: Pearl Harbor, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of the attacks that brought the U.S. into World War II, premieres Sunday, December 4 at 9p.
Fixer Upper, starring home renovation power couple Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines, returns for a fourth season on Tuesday, November 29 at 9p on HGTV. New episodes feature the duo completing projects in Waco, while parenting their four kids, running a 40-acre farm, and managing their family businesses.

ABC Television Network and Disson Skating released airdates for its Colgate skating series. Musselman’s Apple Sauce Family Skating Tribute bows Sunday, November 27 at 3p. Holiday Movie Skating Spectacular: Where Did They Film That? The Holiday Music Journey debuts Sunday, December 4 at 3p. Shall We Dance on Ice premieres Saturday, February 11 at 3p. Colgate Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular bows Saturday, February 18 at 3p. Each two-hour special features Olympic ice-skating champions and live musical performances.
Cinelatino premieres Cuernito Armani: Bullets, Lies and Love on Sunday, November 6 at 9p and 11p. Inspired by Mexican singer El Komander’s narrative song, the narco romantic comedy tells the story of Mario, a powerful drug lord and mama’s boy who scrambles to find a wife to introduce to his family.
NBC celebrates the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree on Christmas in Rockefeller Center, Wednesday, November 30 at 8p. Today anchors Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb host the broadcast, which features performances by Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Josh Groban, Tori Kelly, Sarah McLachlan, Dolly Parton, Jordan Smith, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, the Radio City Rockettes and more.
Sportsman Channel salutes U.S. serviceman and women with a November 5 Veterans Day Marathon presented by LAPG. From 5p-8p, every program will have a connection to the military, with select shows featuring a field adventure with a veteran of active military personnel.
CASTING
Jeff Probst nabbed a guest spot on CBS comedy Life in Pieces. The Survivor host will play himself in an episode about a family member who wants to appear on the reality show.
Wyatt Russell landed the lead role of Sean “Dud” Dudley in AMC’s recently greenlit drama Lodge 49. Series is slated to air in 2018.
Joey Bragg (Liz and Maddie) will recur on Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. He’ll play Seth, a fast-talking Camp Firewood counselor.
Three new cast members have been added to VH1’s Daytime Divas. Kristen Johnston (The Exes) will play Anna, the formerly frumpy assistant to Maxine (Vanessa Williams). Patti LaBelle portrays Gloria, the sharp-tongued prying mother of William (Norm Lewis), while Rob Estes (90210) rounds out the additions as Vance Gordon, a sitcom actor.

RESEARCH
GLAAD released its annual Where We Are on TV report on Thursday, analyzing the overall diversity of primetime scripted series regulars on broadcast networks and the number of LGBTQ characters on cable networks for the 2016-2017 TV season. It found the highest percentage of LGBTQ representation on television, since GLAAD began tracking; a record high of Black, trans and disability representation; and bisexual representation on broadcast television rose to 30 percent, up from 20 percent on last year’s report. On the downside, gay women on TV didn’t fare so well, with over 25 lesbian and bisexual female-identifying characters dying on scripted television and streaming series since the beginning of 2016.
DIGITAL DOINGS
Amazon’s recently released Goliath has set a record as the top-binged first season of a U.S.-produced Amazon Original Series ever over its first 10 days, the streamer announced on Thursday.
TheBlaze launched Wednesday on Dish’s Sling TV platform. Viewers of the conservative digital net will have access to shows including The Vault, in which Glenn Beck explores treasured artifacts, Wednesdays at 5p.
Unspoiled Planet is now available for viewing on Amazon Prime. Series profiles the areas of earth that have remained relatively untouched by humans.
India-based Toonz Studios has signed a partnership with New York-based Herotainment LLC. It sees the creators of collectible brand, Smighties, extend the property into digital series Smighties, based on the unique characters. Show is targeted at kids 4 to 7 and will launch summer 2017 on Toonz’s YouTube channel, Chotoonz.
The New York Times has launched Watching, a TV and film recommendation website based on qualifiers like “binge-worthy,” “joke heavy,” “brainteasing,” “family-friendly” and “strong female lead.” The concept is geared toward helping readers tailor programming to their specific choices.
GOING GLOBAL
Electus International signed deals to bring David Blaine: Beyond Magic to the United Kingdom (Channel 4), Australia (Network 9), and Canada (CTV). The new special, which premieres in the U.S. on Tuesday, November 15 on ABC, mixes stunts and street magic.
Portfolio Entertainment scored its first round of sales for live-action preschool series, Do You Know? with NOGA Children’s Channel in Israel and Discovery Family for the Middle East and Africa. Series takes younger viewers on a ride to explore how everyday things around them work and are made and features YouTube star Maddie Moate.
Boomerang, Turner’s global kids’ brand and companion channel to Cartoon Network, is now available in Taiwan. With an additional 1.6 million subscribers across Kbro and Taiwan Mobile platforms, the agreement increases the channel’s distribution in Asia Pacific to 32 million households.
Banijay’s All Against 1 was commissioned for a second season by Denmark’s DR1. The interactive, studio-based entertainment show pits one contestant against the entire nation. In addition, a local version of the format has been ordered in Finland by Nelonen and a version is currently being developed for Norway’s public broadcaster NRK.

Disney XD’s upcoming animated series Big Hero 6, based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ feature film inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, is reuniting much of the original cast for its 2017 debut. Reprising their roles are: Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass; Jamie Chung as no-nonsense, speed genius Go Go; Scott Adsit as huggable robot Baymax; Alan Tudyk as tech guru Alistair Krei; Ryan Potter as tech genius Hiro; Genesis Rodriguez as quirky scientist Honey Lemon; David Shaughnessy as the butler Heathcliff; and Stan Lee as Fred’s dad. Also joining the main voice cast are Khary Payton (The Lion Guard) as control freak Wasabi and Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live) as fanboy Fred.

Game 7 of the 2016 World Series garnered huge numbers for FOX and was TV’s top telecast since the Super Bowl. According Nielsen, Wednesday night’s game was the most-watched baseball game of any kind since Game 7 of the 1991 World Series and ranks as the most-watched baseball telecast in FOX Sports’ history.
With its broadcast of The 50th Annual CMA Awards, ABC was the dominant entertainment network on Wednesday in total viewers (12.6 million) and A18-49 (2.9/8). The awards show stood as the #1 non-sports program of the night with viewers and young adults, retaining 93 percent of its year-ago total viewer count (12.6 million vs. 13.6 million).
National Geographic’s distribution of Before the Flood reached more than 30 million unique viewers worldwide across linear, digital, steaming and social platforms, making it the most-watched documentary in the world since 2000 and the most watched National Geographic film ever released.
