The Peyton Manning and Tom Brady rivalry continued to prove itself as a national draw, and handed CBS with its highest-rated game of the season, according to Nielsen. The NFL game anchored a window that served up an average overnight household rating/share of 18.6/32. The also marks the third highest-rated regular season game in 16 years on CBS in the metered markets since the NFL returned to the Network in 1998.

Around the dial on NBC, Sunday Night Football posted a 11.9/19 in overnight numbers. That is up 4% from Week 9 a year ago. Top markets for the Steelers/Ravens matchup included: Pittsburgh 46.2/64; Baltimore 36.3/53; Las Vegas 19.3/29; New Orleans 18.2/25; Cleveland 16.0/23

ESPN got a boost from LeBron James and company with its Halloween telecast of the Cavaliers’ win over the Bulls generating one of the network’s highest-rated, regular-season NBA games ever, according to Nielsen. The game posted a 3.1 overnight rating, up 48% from a 2.1 for last season’s comparable game  the Miami Heat versus the Brooklyn Nets. The 3.1 overnight rating matches the third-highest rated regular-season NBA game ever on ESPN. Meanwhile, the second game of the doubleheader, which saw the Clippers best the Lakers, marks a 2.1 score, up 11% from the comparable game a year ago.

El Super Clasico once again served up some nice numbers for Univision. The network saw the match deliver an average audience of 2.1 million viewers with 1.2 million Adults 18-49 for the content. That marks the most-viewed club soccer match since the 2014 World Cup on any network.

In the MLB post-post-season, ESPN2 is slated to carry the 2014 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards Show tonight at 7p. Coverage will come from the Baseball Tonight studio in Bristol. The one-hour telecast will be hosted by Karl Ravech with Barry Larkin and Doug Glanville and include interviews with current MLB players and a special edition of Baseball Tonight’s Web Gems, highlighting the best defensive plays of the 2014 MLB season.

Meanwhile, MLB Network will set to cover the Baseball Writers Association of America when it reveals the top three finalists in the American League and National League for the 2014 Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young and Most Valuable Player Awards tonight at 6p. Coverage will be hosted by Greg Amsinger, Harold Reynolds and Bill Ripken. MLB Network will also unveil the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Awards on Wednesday, November 5, and the Silver Slugger Awards presented by Louisville Slugger on Thursday, November 6.

FIFA seems intent on facing off against either the 2022 Winter Olympics or the NFL, according to the AP. The organization is reportedly eyeballing two options in an effort to avoid the heat for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke stated ”We are getting closer to narrowing the dates for the FIFA World Cup to two options — January-February 2022 or November-December 2022.”

HBO Sports and Hollywood film and TV producer Jamie Patricof and Kevin Durant for the reality special The Offseason: Kevin Durant tonight at 10p on HBO. The program follows his life from the moment his NBA basketball season ended on May 31, until he reported to training camp in late September.

On the radio front, Ric Bucher is joining Bleacher Report radio as the newest host of The B/R Spotlight on Sirius 208/ XM 93. Bucher will team with Nicole Zaloumis as host of the daily show from 10a-1p and cover top stories from around the world of sports.

ESPN is once again opening up voting for the Fan Hall of Fame, honoring “greatness in sports fandom.” To enter the competition, fans of any sport throughout the US and Canada can submit their application at FanHallOfFame.com/Apply until Nov. 16, describing why they deserve a place in the Hall of Fame. The ten finalists, selected by a diverse panel of judges, will be announced on Dec. 1. Additionally, ESPN will create video segments of each of the final contestants sharing their unique stories of fandom.

The UFC will sponsor the British Open Judo Championships in London in 2015 to mark a new partnership for the organization. The Championships will take place at Wembley Arena on July 12 and comes as part of a partnership with the British Judo Association, the national governing body for Judo in the UK.

FIFA appears to be breaking up with one of its biggest sponsors with airline Emirates opting not to renew its contract with the organization, according to reports. FOX Sports, meanwhile, writes that Sony is also mulling a divorce with the world governing body.

American Express and the NBA opened the doors to their digital destination on NBA.com, dubbed “Home Court Advantage.” The site offers “personal insights and stories behind some of the biggest players in the game through exclusive video content, NBA player roundtables, interactive social chats, as well as access to NBA tickets and merchandise. “American Express has a rich heritage of providing services that enhance our Card Members’ passions  we’re thrilled to be delivering basketball fans unique advantages all season long,” said Deborah Curtis, VP, Entertainment and Sports Marketing, American Express. “Fans can come to ‘Home Court Advantage’ anytime to see personal stories about their favorite players and experience the game in new, memorable and rewarding ways.”

Campus Insiders unveiled its Atlantic 10 college basketball broadcast slate for the 2014-15 season, which will see seven games produced by Campus Insiders, and available exclusively at CampusInsiders.com/live and select official Atlantic 10 websites. The schedule tips off with Saint Joseph’s hosting Loyola (Md.) on Dec. 9 at 7p, and also includes appearances by 2014 NCAA Tournament teams UMass and Saint Louis as well as conference newcomer Davidson.

ESPNcricinfo is on the clock, announced a 100 day countdown to the ICC Cricket World Cup starting Wednesday. In addition, the brand announced that Ricky Ponting will join the site as both a columnist and video commentator. The 100 day countdown to the start of the tournament will include via microsite an ICC Cricket World Cup trivia section, daily World Cup editorial and blog features covering the teams, players, and venues alongside video and photographic content and a World Cup travel site highlighting key information for anyone wanting to attend any of the match venues.
