Fox News Channel grabbed the biggest audience among all cable and broadcast networks Wednesday night, when more than 65 million viewers tuned in for the final debate showdown between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Preliminary Nielsen numbers show FNC averaged 11.3 million viewers, besting ABC’s 11 million, NBC’s 10.4 million, CBS’s 10.12 million, CNN’s 8.7 million, Fox broadcast’s 6.6 million, MSNBC’s 5.5 million, and Univision’s 1.2 million.
Fusion’s first television collaboration with The Onion comes today in the form of a stylized, satirical election retrospective. The Onion Presents: The Iconic Images Of Election 2016 will look back on the crucial moments that shaped one of the wildest Presidential campaigns in U.S. history, through the lens of The Onion’s esteemed panel of political experts, journalists and historians. Special airs Friday, October 21 at 9p on Fusion.
SundanceTV will feature iconic television series with a new daytime programming block, The Set, airing weekdays from 6a to 1p starting Monday, November 7. With a tagline of “Timeless, Timely, TV,” the block will feature M*A*S*H, All In The Family, The Bob Newhart Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Andy Griffith Show. The shows will air each day with back-to-back episodes in chronological order, starting with the pilots of all five series. To kick off the new programming block, SundanceTV will air a 48-hour marathon of M*A*S*H, beginning Sunday, November 6 at 6.

Viola Davis is on board to co-produce thriller Head Games for ABC. Series is from The Art of More creator Chuck Rose, Davis & Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions and ABC Studios. Written by Rose and based on his book, Head Games follows a Park Avenue psychiatrist who’s approached by the government to come work for them as a spy, feeding them crucial intel on one of his patients.
CBS has given a straight-to-series order for 13 episodes of Salvation, an hourlong event series from Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout and CBS Television Studios. The serialized suspense thriller will be broadcast during summer 2017, and centers on an MIT grad student and a tech superstar who bring a low-level Pentagon official a staggering discovery that an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth. Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro, who wrote the script (based on the story by Matt Wheeler), Kurtzman, Heather Kadin and Peter Lenkov will serve as exec producers. The series will be distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution and worldwide by CBS Studios International.
NBC gave a script commitment with significant penalty to Last Hope, a drama from Lee Child, former CSI executive producer Andrew Dettmann, EuropaCorp Television and Universal TV. Child’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back will premiere in theaters this weekend. The British author’s first TV foray centers on a highly trained but disenfranchised former military police investigator who leads a team of fallen heroes who get justice for people with nowhere else to turn.
Tammin Sursok (Pretty Little Liars) and writer/director Sean McEwen (And Punching the Clown) partnered with youth-focused production company Astronauts Wanted to develop and produce scripted comedy Aussie Girl. The series, loosely based on Sursok’s life, takes place at the moment when her career in Australia takes a wild turn and she’s forced to hop on a plane and try to make it in LA. Series is written and directed by McEwen and Sursok and exec-produced by Cassidy Lunnen.
Enemy of The State, a sequel to the 1998 Tony Scott movie starring Will Smith and Gene Hackman, got a put pilot commitment from ABC. The project hails from the film’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, and ABC Studios, and is set two decades after the original film when an elusive NSA spy is charged with leaking classified intelligence and an idealistic female attorney must partner with a hawkish FBI agent to stop a global conspiracy. Series was written by Blackhat’s Morgan Davis Foehl.

Investigation Discovery’s new series Married With Secrets profiles the dark and twisted psychological warfare of marriages (think Girl on a Train and Gone Girl) via dramatizations of surprising stories of seemingly perfect marriages that turned out to be nightmares. Series premieres Tuesday, October 25 at 10p.
Univision’s newest novella, Vino el Amor, is premiering Tuesday, October 25 at 9p, replacing the network’s telenovela ‘res Veces Ana. Set in Napa Valley, Vino el Amor (Then Came Love) is a vintage tale about love and the modern challenges of an immigrant family.
Science Channel’s Outrageous Acts of Science, featuring out-of-this-world viral videos and a team of experts revealing the science behind the stunts, returns for a new season Wednesday, October 26 at 10p. The new episodes show mind-boggling displays of science in action while counting down the week’s top 20 videos.
TBS has a treat for fans of its series People of Earth, returning the show for a new season on Halloween, Monday October 31 at 9p. The show will again center around skeptical journalist Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac), who investigates a support group to write about the members’ supposed alien encounters.
Discovery Life will debut Project Dad, a new series from Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Tuesday, November 1 at 7p. Series follows celebrity dads Donnell Rawlings (comedian, Chappelle’s Show), Daniel Cosgrove (Days of Our Lives), and DJ Skribble as they step out of the spotlight and into the role of “mom” for 48 hours.
Premiering on November 16 at 8p, BBC America’s Undercover is a bold new political thriller told through a family on the brink of destruction. The six-part series follows Maya Cobbina (Sophie Okonedo), a spirited barrister whose life gets turned upside down just as she’s about to become the first black Director of Public Prosecutions.
A&E is gearing up for the holidays with a big helping of laughs, Wahlberg style. The season premiere of Wahlburgers debuts with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, November 16 at 10p, continuing to chronicle the lives of the Wahlberg family including matriarch Alma and sons Mark, Donnie and Paul along with the rest of their family and friends. This season includes a visit with Mark on the Transformers: The Last Knight set, and a tour of London from 80s pop singer Rick Astley.
TLC’s veteran series Little People, Big World returns Tuesday, November 22 at 8p with new challenges on the farm that rock the family dynamics with lasting effects.
VH1 is prepping the runway. The network will debut the reboot of America’s Next Top Model on Monday, December 12 at 10p. The new season returns to the show’s roots in NY, featuring an all-female cast of aspiring supermodels, and is hosted by singer, actress and entrepreneur Rita Ora.

The New York Television Festival, celebrating independent television, starts next week – and it looks to be a winner. “We have put together one of our strongest line-ups yet,” Terence Gray, founder/executive director, NYTVF, tells Cynopsis. Showrunners and creators from series including Girls, Arrested Development, Rectify and How I Met Your Mother will be on hand to share stories about their careers and give advice to the select group of independent producers, writers and directors who have been invited to the Festival.“With more than 60 indie pilots being screened, special fan events every night, and hundreds of networking and pitch meetings taking place between our Official Artists and industry decision-makers, we can’t wait for Monday,”said Gray.
Fuse is revving up Gamer Gods: Team Liquid, a half-hour special shadowing one of the world’s most successful esports franchises. The special will premiere at 10p November 14, and take viewers along for the ride with players Spencer “Hiko” Martin, Nick “nitr0” Cannella and others as they train for the above ESL One New York 2016 esports tournament.
Barack is back in the house of Kimmel. President Obama will sit down with Jimmy Kimmel on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, October 24, just 15 days ahead of the upcoming election. The Commander in Chief last appeared on the late night show on March 12, 2015.

GSN secured the telecast rights to Season 31 of iconic game show Wheel of Fortune; the network will debut the season Monday, October 24 and air it weekdays at 11a and 11:30a. Currently in its 34th season in syndication, Wheel was created by Merv Griffin in 1975 as an NBC daytime show.
CASTING
Skiing star Tina Maze is joining Discovery-owned broadcaster Eurosport on the road to Pyeongchang for coverage of the winter Olympics in South Korea. She joins an Olympics lineup that includes triple Olympic gold medalist biathlete Michael Greis and Polish ski legend Adam Malysz.
KID STUFF
Rank the Prank, a practical joke show that empowers kids by pairing them with renowned special effects experts to stage the most entertaining hidden-camera pranks, will debut October 24 on Nickelodeon. The 13-episode series, co-produced by Montreal-based Apartment 11, features a panel of Ranksters who rate which team executed the best prank, offering winners a chance to pull a “Mega Prank” on a target of their choosing.
While parents recognize the undeniable role of technology in their kids’ lives, a new survey from Sprout reveals that a majority of parents need a roadmap to help navigate their children’s tech usage on a day-to-day basis. Sprout released the findings in conjunction with the upcoming premiere of new original series Dot., which premieres October 22 at 11a based on the book by Randi Zuckerberg. The survey was conducted by Research Now and asked parents to share how they integrate tech into their families’ lives. Among findings:
* Parents found technology increases their child’s curiosity about the environment around them (71 percent) and helps them explore the world by introducing them to new cultures (66 percent).
* 92 percent of parents say they need information on how to navigate their kids’ relationship with tech, and 62% say they’ve argued with their kids about screen time.
In conjunction with the new series, Sprout is launching a Do’s & Dots YouTube series to help teach kids tech best practices and address parents’ pain points on challenges such as sharing devices and giving back devices when their screen time is up.

The words “Presidential Debate” clocked 53.2 million social media interactions across Facebook and Twitter from 16.9 million people in the US on Wednesday, according to Nielsen. Social media activity peaked between 10:15p and 10:29p, when 4.6 million interactions followed Donald Trump’s pronouncement that he would keep the American people in suspense over whether or not he’ll accept the outcome of the election.
Sony Pictures Television Networks has taken a minority stake in Hopster, a global preschool SVOD platform, becoming a strategic equity investor and taking a seat on the company’s Board. The investment complements SPT Networks’ growing kids portfolio, particularly in the UK, where SPT Networks’ linear and AVOD services include Pop, Tiny Pop and Kix. Hopster was launched in December 2013 by Nick Walters.

Vet tv is launching an online streaming television network dedicated to post 9/11 veterans. The network will use dark humor, sketch comedy, sitcoms, reality shows and more to examine the post 9/11 experience that veterans endure.
