Good morning. It’s Tuesday, August 23, 2016, and this is your weekly issue of Cynopsis: Jobs!

The house was packed for an August 17 event on behalf of iDiverse, The IAB Education Foundation’s diversity initiative. Representatives from the digital, advertising and media industries filed into the AOL offices in lower Manhattan to learn how to turn visions of a more diverse workforce into reality. Tim Armstrong, CEO and Chairman of AOL, kicked the morning off by outlining a mission he described as the "Olympics of diversity." Said Armstrong, "We need an Infrastructure of physical change.”
To that end, the IAB Education Foundation and iDiverse will be joining forces with the Borough of Manhattan Community College to offer a digital training course to prepare students for entry level jobs in the digital media and marketing industries, and work with non-profit partners to recruit applicants. At the division of Adult Continuing Education, selected students will not only have their tuition fees covered by iDiverse, but get assistance with interviews and job placement. Noted another speaker, venture capitalist, social policy researcher and philanthropist Freada Kapor Klein, “Hiring Managers must not just de-bias the interview but de-bias their team as a whole."
