Breathe easy, Big Bang Theory fans. Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco have come to agreements with Warner Bros. Television for new three-year contracts, with reported $1 million-per-episode paychecks and larger pieces of the CBS comedy’s backend. Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are also expected to reach new deals. Production on season eight, now slated to start Wednesday, August 6, was delayed a week during extended contract negotiations.

IN THE NEWS

ABC News took top honors from the Newspaper Guild, a first for a TV network. Brian Ross, Matthew Mosk, Rhonda Schwartz and the ABC News investigative team won the Heywood Broun Award, honoring a "true commitment to championing the underdog against the powerful, the uncaring and the corrupt," for their "Breathless and Burdened" report on black lung disease. The prize is shared by journalists from the Center for Public Integrity, which claimed a Pulitzer for the report in April.

Viewers will have Hyundai to thank for an early peek at the premiere of TNT series Legends. The episode will be available starting Wednesday, August 6, on TNT Video on Demand, the WatchTNT app or on TNTDrama, presented by the 2015 Hyundai Genesis with limited interruption. TNT will also debut original short film The Genesis, born of a branded content partnership between the net and digital content studio New Form. "The film short will embody the dramatic suspense of Legends, while signifying the bold appeal of the Hyundai Genesis as it’s seamlessly integrated as the main character’s vehicle," said TNT. Legends officially debuts Wednesday, August 13 at 9p.

CBS moved up the finale of Extant to Wednesday, September 17, keeping it out of hot competition with the premieres of ABC‘s Modern Family and NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU during premiere week. The Halle Berry summer event series’ most recent outing scored a 1.1 rating among A18-49 and 5.9 million viewers. On September 24, CBS now has slotted a 90-minute premiere for Survivor, followed by a 90-minute Big Brother finale.

He was 73. Left permanently disabled, Brady’s crusade for gun control led to a federal law requiring a background check on handgun buyers. "The law that bears Jim’s name has kept guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals," said President Obama said in a statement on Monday. "An untold number of people are alive today who otherwise wouldn’t be, thanks to Jim."
