It’s official: Dana Walden and Gary Newman are in charge of the Fox broadcast network. The 20th Century Fox TV co-chairmen will oversee a new business unit within Fox Networks Group, Fox Television Group, combining Fox Broadcasting Company and 20th Century Fox Television.  They’ll report to Peter Rice, chairman and CEO of FNG. In a conference call Monday, Newman said that while studio and network will continue to operate independently, "They will have shared creative and financial goals – to create more hits and, with the benefit of more collaboration and a more streamlined approach to development, create more hits together."

IN THE NEWS

NBC is holding Katherine Heigl CIA drama State of Affairs until November because the series has "a bit of DNA from The Blacklist," NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt tells Cynopsis. "We wanted to move The Blacklist to Thursday after the Super Bowl. It will come off Monday after its fall run, so we thought we’d hold one of our 10 o’clock dramas for that time period. Joe Carnahan directed The Blacklist pilot and conceived State of Affairs, so it seemed like a natural evolution of the schedule." Affairs launches Monday, November 17 at 10p.

Jenny McCarthy‘s jumping from The View to SiriusXM Radio, for weekly Dirty, Sexy, Funny With Jenny McCarthy. Said McCarthy, who’s wrapping up a one-year stint on the ABC talker, "It’s no secret that I love to talk. I’m excited to do it on SiriusXM without having to interrupt anyone or keep things clean. You can bet your sweet ass this show will live up to its title." Show launches Wednesday, July 16 at 6p.

It’s an ESPN/History mashup, as the nets share co-branded spots featuring SportsCenter‘s Scott Van Pelt and Kenny Mayne along with American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz. The promos, airing on both networks, throw a spotlight on the newly launched SportsCenter set as well as the new season of American Pickers, premiering Wednesday, July 30, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. "This is an organic next step in our continued partnership," said Samantha Maltin, SVP of marketing for History and H2. "By combining forces with ESPN SportCenter we can expand our fan base and raise the cultural currency of our core franchises."

Alisyn Camerota, who left Fox News‘ America’s News Headquarters in March, has landed at CNN. "I’ve always admired the fine work of the journalists at CNN and I’m honored to join their ranks," said Camerota, who spent 16 years at FNC.

The Africa Channel will make television history with the soft launch of morning weekday series Expresso on Friday, July 18, the birth date of Nelson Mandela. On its official premiere in the fall, Expresso will be the first series to air live on the African continent and then on tape the same day in the U.S.

USA is partnering with Vice Media and HowAboutWe to promote provocative relationship series Satisfaction. The net commissioned Vice for a three-part docu-series exploring modern romance, and is rolling out advertorials on HowAboutWe, made up of digital platforms to help daters. "By aligning with disruptive and innovative digital platforms we hope to appeal to new audiences," said USA EVP of marketing and digital Alexandra Shapiro. Satisfaction premieres Thursday, July 17 at 10p.

A four-year battle over control of the Golden Globes came to an end when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions reached a deal to have DCP produce the glitzy Globes on NBC until 2018.

ZM Capital and Neil Court have made an equity investment in 9 Story Entertainment Limited, with Court becoming its executive chairman. The investment is being made out of ZM Capital II, a private equity fund from ZelnickMedia.

PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Paramount Television signed a two-year, first-look deal with filmmaker Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump), Jack Rapke and their Compari Entertainment. "Bob is a masterful storyteller, and we’re thrilled to be developing character-driven, visually creative programming in the television space that reflects his beloved cinematic approach," said Amy Powell, president, Paramount Television.

Universal Cable Productions announced it has acquired the rights to Danish drama The Legacy, with the intention of developing an event series around the story of a family weighed down by secrets and lies. Doug Liman (Suits), Dave Bartis (Covert Affairs) and Gene Klein (Suits) of Hypnotic will produce.

Violence in Jerusalem has extended by a week a planned production hiatus for USA‘s Dig. The Keshet Media Group event series, about an FBI agent stationed in Jerusalem, has been shooting in the region. "This caught us off-guard and we are reassessing," said exec producer Gideon Raff at TCA.

USA ordered  a pilot for Mr. Robot, a "visionary drama" about a computer hacker. Sam Esmail (Comet) and Anonymous Content‘s Steve Golin (True Detective) and Chad Hamilton (Breakup at a Wedding) will exec produce.

Venevision Productions announced a multi-year contract with Enrique Santos to host a new show for UniMas. Santos is the star of Univision Radio’s Enrique Santos Show.

RETURNING SERIES

There may be grumbling that Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany was shut out of the Emmys, but focus on the positive: the critically acclaimed drama got a third season pickup. Perry Simon, GM of BBC America Worldwide shared the news at TCA, telling Cynopsis, "We now see Orphan Black as an anchor, a show that will enable us to launch other shows. It continues to give the channel an identity for our sponsors, advertisers and affiliates. To have a series that is so unique and buzzed-about, it elevates everything."

TV One docu-series Unsung, the net’s longest-running original series, returns Wednesday, July 30 at 8p. Artists to be profiled include The Emotions, Wilson Pickett, Peaches & Herb and Hi Five.

Teresa Caputo is back – hair, nails and all – for TLC‘s Long Island Medium: On the Road. The season starts in Las Vegas Sunday, August 3 at 9p.

The Great Food Truck Race heads back to Food Network for season five Sunday, August 17 at 9p. Eight teams of three get a vehicle for the race, but the grand prize winner gets to keep the truck, plus $50,000 to start a business.

Reality star Melissa Rycroft (The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars) is onboard season nine as judge and mentor for CMT‘s Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. Competition premieres Friday, August 8 at 9p.
