Good morning. It’s Thursday July 9, 2015, and this is your first early morning Sports briefing.

Round two of Keith Olbermann’s run at ESPN is over. The company announced that the Olbermann show will end its run sometime this month, ending his tenure once again following his return in 2013. Previous reports have stated that Olbermann and the company disagreed on his use of commentary segments and that ESPN management offered Olbermann the chance to take his show from NYC to Bristol or LA, but were turned down. However, in a statement, ESPN writes that “Keith is a tremendous talent who has consistently done timely, entertaining and thought-provoking work since returning to ESPN. While the show’s content was distinctive and extremely high quality, we ultimately made a business decision to move in another direction. We wish Keith nothing but the best and trust that his skill and ability will lead him to another promising endeavor.”

Company channels will offer fans at least five games each week in the season’s first two months via NBC and NBCSN. All remaining Premier League matches will be made available on Premier League Extra Time, a bonus television package available to MVPDs at no extra cost for customers who receive NBCSN. Around the dial, 28 matches in August and September will be showcased in Spanish by Telemundo and NBC Universo.
