It looks like Donald Trump won’t be heading to NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers anytime soon. Meyers banned the presumptive Republican presidential nominee after Trump barred the Washington Post from his events. “We here at Late Night believe in freedom of the press and therefore have decided to stand in solidarity with them,” Meyers said. “So as long as the Washington Post is banned from Donald Trump’s campaign, Donald Trump will be banned from ever coming on this show. You missed out, buddy.”

Meyers added of a Trump trip, “To be fair, he wasn’t coming on here anyway.” Bad blood? Back in 2011, as host of the White House Correspondents dinner, Meyers had poked fun at the mogul with jokes like, “Donald Trump has been saying he will run for president as a Republican. Which is surprising, since I just assumed he was running as a joke.”

MTV head of reality programming Lauren Dolgen is leaving the network. Dolgen, who clocked 19 years at the company, moved to her most recent post in March 2015. “Lauren has been discussing the next chapter in her career … for a few months now and I want to thank her for helping with the transition  and for her work in helping jumpstart the development pipeline,” said Michael Klein, who took the job of MTV’s EVP, original content in March, in a memo. “I look forward to digging in with the team and working to push this brand forward.”

If Adria Alpert Romm, chief human resources & global diversity officer; Henry Schleiff, group president ID, Destination America and American Heroes Channel; Patrice Andrews, GM of Animal Planet; and Marc Etkind, GM of Science Channel aren’t in their offices June 17, they’re not playing hooky.More than 1,000 Discovery Communications employees in the DC area and 500 employees in the NYC area will be among the 4,200 global Discovery employees that will skip work this Friday to volunteer in their communities for “Discover Your Impact Day.” Overall, employees from over 60 offices in nearly 40 countries will take part in the initiative, launched in 2010.

Light Reading, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, and SCTE’s global arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts, are teaming to help the cable industry achieve the cost reduction and environmental goals of SCTE/ISBE’s Energy 2020 program. The partnership calls for the production of educational content to advance awareness of how cable’s energy management efforts can assist the environment and the bottom line.
