IN THE NEWS

TiVo Research produced some interesting data about the TV viewing habits of Donald Trump versus Hillary Clinton supporters. It is perhaps no surprise that Clinton supporters watch more MSNBC than average, while Trump fans turn to Fox News. Trump backers watch Nick Jr. 2.4 times more than average, while Clinton supporters favor network series featuring strong female protagonists (the CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend tops that list). The two camps have some TV in common, too: Both were heavy viewers of NBC’s recently canceled The Mysteries of Laura. “Regardless of the political party affiliation or candidate preference, our TV data shows we all share a lot similarities and differences,” Tara Maitra, GM and SVP Content and TiVo Research, tells Cynopsis.

Add Elton John, Julia Roberts, Will Ferrell, Blake Shelton and Kobe Bryant to the list of stars onboard The Red Nose Day Special, airing Thursday, May 26 at 9p on NBC. The charity event is being hosted by Craig Ferguson.

BFFs Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will be honored as “Guys of the Decade” at Spike’s Guys Choice, taping Saturday, June 4 at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA and premiering Thursday, June 9 at 9p. The ceremony will have a Rat-Pack Las Vegas theme for this year’s 10th anniversary event.

The Royal Television Society has named Steve Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal, as the keynote of the RTS London Conference 2016, this September. NBCUniversal International has also been named lead sponsor of the Conference.
