Fox is aiming for a summer hit with reality competition Bullseye. In the series from Endemol Shine America and hosted by Kellan Lutz (Twilight), contestants are tasked with “three ultimate challenges that ask nothing more than for them to hit the Bullseye – literally.” Premiere date: Wednesday, May 27 at 9p.

IN THE NEWS

Adding to his responsibilities as president and general manager of AMC, Charlie Collier was handed the same titles at SundanceTV. “Running AMC and Sundance under common management makes good sense for both networks, which are heavily focused on high-end drama,” said Ed Carroll, COO of AMC Networks. “Charlie has done a great job in moving AMC to a leadership position in the TV landscape.” Collier takes the role from Sarah Barnett, who was named president and GM of BBC America late last year, when AMC Networks began operating BBCA through a joint venture with BBC Worldwide; Barnett oversaw SundanceTV during the interim period.

Add HBO to Dish Network’s Sling TV arsenal. For an extra $15/month, Sling TV customers will have access to one live HBO channel and the same VOD library available on HBO Go. The deal is part of Dish’s new carriage agreement with Time Warner Inc. that keeps Turner channels including TBS, TNT and truTV on Dish, ahead of Saturday’s NCAA Final Four games.

It’s been a year since Howard Owens left his position as president of National Geographic Channels, and this week he launched a new company. What’s the deal? “I’ve been planning to create an independent content studio since leaving National Geographic Channels,” Owens,newly-minted CEO and founder of the new Propagate Content, tells Cynopsis. “I wanted to merge the knowledge I gained as a programmer with my skills as a producer, and create a company that develops content with today’s savvy consumer as the focus. Both modern and emerging audiences alike expect different content experiences based on what they’re watching, where they’re watching it, and how – Propagate’s mission is to deliver on these enhanced expectations.”

Univision host and entertainment reporter Carlos Calderon and Jomari Goyso, the network’s image consultant and special collaborator, will join Lourdes Stephen as hosts of Sunday night headline show Sal y Pimienta (Salt and Pepper). The Uni celebs, who boast a strong following among young Hispanics, start on the show Sunday, April 5 at 10p.

Nielsen’s Online Campaign Ratings product is getting a rebrand. The new name, Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings, “better describes Nielsen’s total digital view, inclusive of mobile,” according to the measurement company. “The enhancements we’re making to Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings are about simplicity, and reflect Nielsen’s ability to grow and adapt our services to meet the needs of clients,” said Megan Clarken, EVP, Global Product Leadership.

Comedian Patton Oswalt went on a Twitter tear defending Jon Stewart’s successor at Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, who drew criticism for old tweets deemed offensive. “Deciding who or what is off-limits – or going out of your way to placate – is terrible for comedy,” said Oswalt. Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi called the brouhaha “much ado about nothing.” What’s your take on the Noah controversy? Let us know in the new Cynopsis poll.

RETURNING SHOWS

Season two of Weather Channel’s Tornado Alley returns Monday, April 27 at 9p with a twist. APRIL FOOLING

With significant time-shifted gains, IFC is turning to Live+3 ratings reporting. Actually, the “slightly off” net announced on April 1 that it would use Live+2.9999 ratings. “We really don’t think we need that last ten-thousandth of a day to accurately assess and communicate viewership of our shows,” said net president Jennifer Caserta. “We are good with a slightly off live+2.9999, and that will be our proud standard.” In the absence of a Nielsen +2.9999 category, IFC said it will “default” to Live+3. In season five, Portlandia had an average increase of 108 percent in A18-49, and the current fourth season of Comedy Bang! Bang! is seeing 81 percent growth in the demo (.0001 less in Live+2.9999).

Also having fun on April Fool’s Day, VH1 announced a green light for Space D.A.T.E., “an out-this-world reality series that gives single earthlings the opportunity to expand their search for true love to Mars.” Said net president Tom Calderone, “These brave individuals have committed to spending years of their lives on Mars. We figured that we may as well give them an opportunity to be with someone hot.”

A new line of Bachelor hot tubs was announced, offering seating for multiple suitors, mood lighting and vases for fresh-cut roses. Bonus for purchase by April 1: a mini fridge stocked with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Not really, of course – but the release did tout the for-real premiere of The Bachelorette on Monday, May 18 at 9p on ABC.

BRANDS & ADVERTISING

Jack Daniel’s Tennesse Brands, BET and K. Michelle (Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta) are teaming for a contest offering fans a chance to win a trip to join Michelle on the red carpet at the BET Awards, or a Jack Honey jam session in New Orleans. “This collaboration with Jack Honey means so much to me,” said K. Michelle. “I love that I can work with one of my favorite brands and give a little something back to my fans at the same time.”
