Under Armour is gearing up for the Olympics with the release of the next step of its Rule Yourself global marketing campaign. Releasing new content for the initiative, the promotion features a mantra of JOMO (the joy of missing out) with the tagline "It’s What You Do in the Dark That Puts You in the Light." The campaign opens with two television spots and a series of social engagement programs that feature members of USA Gymnastics Women’s National Team and Netherlands football star Memphis Depay that will also see the campaign serve up a short film featuring world championship swimmer Michael Phelps next month. All three films were created in partnership with Droga5 and the brand will launch the 360-degree global campaign with media partners that include ESPN, NBC, ABC, MTV, Turner, Complex, PopSugar, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and more.

ON THE AIR

Saturdays continue to pay off for ESPN’s new franchise NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC, which locked down the evening across all of television in key demos, including People and Males 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. Last weekend’s telecast averaged 3,472,000 viewers for the network, according to Nielsen, to rank as the second-most watched NBA game this season across ESPN networks, not counting Christmas Day and drummed up a 2.2 household score. Through seven games, viewership for the NBA on ABC this season is up 9% with rating up 8%.

MP & Silva claimed global media distribution rights for all games of the 2017 World Baseball Classic and Qualifiers. The deal covers all territories with the exceptions of Japan, Puerto Rico and the US. For the first time, Canada will also be included in the territories. The company also held media distribution rights for the 2013 World Baseball Classic. “MP & Silva was a valuable partner in the last edition of the tournament and we look forward to expanding our relationship with them for the 2017 World Baseball Classic,” said Chris Park, Senior Vice President, Growth, Strategy & International, Major League Baseball. “This event is integral to the continued growth and development of baseball internationally and MP & Silva’s experience in global media distribution will help deliver this exciting tournament to an even larger worldwide audience.”

Speaking of deals, FC Bayern Munich inked a multi-year extension with ONE World Sports for exclusive North American carriage of FC Bayern’s international magazine show, including matches, highlights and interviews. “As we continue building our fan base in the U.S., renewing our partnership with ONE World Sports gives us access to a large audience of passionate American soccer fans,“ said Executive Board Member of Internationalization and Strategy of FC Bayern Munich, Joerg Wacker. “Bringing our story and the club closer to our fans will ultimately fuel greater excitement, participation and growth of the club and sport in the States.”

Next week, MLB Network warms up for the new season with coverage of live Spring Training baseball for 34 straight days. The network will offer coverage of every MLB camp with the return of30 Clubs in 30 Days, while its game schedule will showcase over 200 games. The action begins with the Blue Jays/Phillies on March 1 at 1p. For the first time in the eight-year history of 30 Clubs in 30 Days, the channel will feature multiple on-air personalities reporting from each MLB camp, beginning with the Cleveland Indians on March 1 at 7p as hosts Greg Amsinger, Fran Charles, Brian Kenny, Matt Vasgersian and Heidi Watney will join analysts Sean Casey, Mark DeRosa, Al Leiter, Dan Plesac, Harold Reynolds and John Smoltz at each camp to provide analysis and predictions on the coming season.

ESPN announced its lacrosse plans, lining up approximately 100 men’s and women’s Division I Lacrosse games in the 2016 season overall. ESPNU carries more than 25 men’s division I games in the regular season, beginning Friday with UMBC/Ohio State at 5p. ESPN will carry more than 35 women’s lacrosse games, including tonight’s Loyola (Md.)/John Hopkins battle at 5p. The company also plays host to the 2016 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship beginning with the selection show on May 8 at 9p on ESPNU.

beIN SPORTS celebrated the 200th episode of its flagship show, The Locker Room with Kay Murray, Ray Hudson, Phil Schoen, Christian Vieri and Gary Bailey taking part for a special studio show on Monday night, which saw  the network unveil new graphics and music to be featured on the show. The new theme music was written by musician, composer and producer Leo Sidran.

Former WWE staple Jim Ross signed on to serve as a boxing announcer for CBS Sports, according to the Charlotte Observer. He will debut on March 12 with the first of eight scheduled monthly events known as Knockout Night at the D and marks Ross’ first regular broadcasting gig since he filled in on WWE broadcasts following Jerry Lawler’s heart attack in 2012. He will pair with veteran color commentator Al Bernstein.

This year’s edition of The Basketball Tournament will see some changes, namely a consolidation into 64 teams while the prize money will bow double to $2 million. With ESPN again on-board to carry the championship on Aug. 2, the single-elimination, summer basketball event will be open to applicants starting April 1. TBT’s social media driven application period launches on April 1 on TheTournament.com.

CBS Sports Network takes a look at 1966 Texas Western: Championship of Change on Sunday at noon with the special looking at the impact of Texas Western’s National Championship and the impact it had on the sports and cultural landscape in the US. The program also includes interviews with former Kentucky players Pat Riley and Larry Conley.

The Atlanta Hawks matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Monday handed FOX Sports Southeast with a 2.9 household rating in the Atlanta DMA, tying for the highest-rated Hawks regular season game of the 2015-16 season.

NBC Sports Group named The Londoner in Addison, Texas as the Best Premier League Bar in America. based on the number of in-bar check-ins it received, fan content submitted online and shared on social media as part of the promotion. As part of their campaign for the competition, the Londoner organized a charity drive for new and gently used soccer equipment to donate to local children’s teams, hosted a photo booth outfitted with a green screen so fans could take photos appearing to be at their favorite Premier League stadiums, provided a “Soccer Santa” around the holiday season for family photos, and more. The Londoner now gets $50,000 to upgrade its viewing experience, as well a party hosted by NBC Sports Group.

The Professional Women’s Bowling Association locked in a deal with Pepsi that makes the brand the official soft drink of the 2016 PWBA Tour. As part of the agreement, Pepsi will be the title sponsor of the PWBA Tour stop in Lincoln, Nebraska and be featured during 2016 PWBA Tour telecasts on CBS Sports Network. The United States Bowling Congress and CBS Sports Network recently reached an agreement to televise 23 major championship bowling events in 2016, including 13 telecasts of the PWBA Tour.

Tecate is sponsoring its first professional boxer, announcing an endorsement deal with Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who will sport Tecate’s name on his shorts.

Minor League Baseball selected its Charity Partners for 2016 and 2017, renewing ties with The ALS Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Ed Randall’s Fans for the Cure and adding the American Cancer Society and the BairFind Foundation as new partners. . “Since the inception of the Minor League Baseball Charity Partners Program more than a decade ago, we have dedicated ourselves and our resources to assisting the communities we call home in the United States and Canada,” said Minor League Baseball President & CEO Pat O’Conner. “The program encourages engagement between MiLB teams and deserving charitable organizations and makes impactful contributions to countless individuals annually.”

NeuLion and Major League Soccer are renewing their partnership agreement for MLS Live. As MLS prepares for the launch of the 2016 season, the league announced that the platform, powered by the Neulion Digital Platform, saw a 60% growth in subscriptions on a year-over-year basis and a record number of existing subscribers renewing the service this year as well as a record number of new activations from first-time subscribers. The upcoming season will see the duo launch a number of enhancements for fans of MLS LIVE, including closer integration with MLSsoccer.com through single sign-on and new user interfaces.

Time Inc.’s GOLF is launching a new weekly show, Golf Live that will feature interviews with players and celebrities, news analysis, game-improvement advice and more. The inaugural episode features an exclusive sit-down interview with Phil Mickelson and includes special guest Kelly Rohrbach. The 30-minute program hosted by Ryan Asselta will runs Tuesdays at noon on GOLF.com.
