IN THE NEWS
On the heels of Grease: Live comes another ambitious live venture from Fox – The Simpsons, on May 15. Marge, Lisa and Bart will turn the show over to family patriarch, Homer, who’ll comment on events of the day during both the East Coast and West Coast broadcasts. The final three minutes of the episode will use motion capture technology to animate actor Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer, in real-time.
Ainsley Earhardt is replacing Elisabeth Hasselbeck as co-anchor of Fox News Channel‘s Fox & Friends, effective February 29. Earhardt started her career at FNC in 2007 as a correspondent and has been co-host of Fox & Friends First, which airs weekdays at 5a. In November, the network announced that Hasselbeck was leaving the show to devote more time to her three children.
The Season 17 finale of NBC’s The Biggest Loser airs Monday, February 22 at 9p, as the series’ 16 contestants reunite to weigh in one last time before the winner is revealed. The live finale will include a new twist that could dramatically impact the competition.
HITN-TV is partnering with AccuWeather to bring updates in the 12 US cities with the highest concentration of Spanish-speakers. The agreement marks the first time AccuWeather has partnered with a national TV network to offer Spanish weather forecasts across the country.
AT&T is continuing to phase out U-verse. According to Bloomberg, the telco is nudging customers towards DirecTV, the satellite service it bought last year. “To realize the many benefits of our DirecTV acquisition, we are leading our video marketing approach with DirecTV,” said an AT&T rep in a statement. “However, our first priority is to listen to our customers and meet their needs, and if we determine a customer will be better served with the U-verse product, we offer attractive and compelling options.”
Hours before it was scheduled to go to trial on Tuesday, Fox News Channel settled a lawsuit over a photograph from the 9/11 attacks Thomas Franklin’s “Raising the Flag at Ground Zero” – that appeared on Facebook. According to the cable news giant and North Jersey Media Group, the confidential settlement will “discontinue” all claims, counterclaims and proceedings the parties have had against each other since the latter sued the former and host Jeanine Pirro in October 2013.
CNN Worldwide has expanded its CNNMoney brand internationally across TV and digital. CNNMoney View with Nina dos Santos will air at 6a from London, CNNMoney with Maggie Lake will air at 9a, and Quest Means Business, anchored by Richard Quest, will air from New York at 4p. Quest will also serve as editor-at-large for CNNMoney and pen a global daily newsletter “CNNMoney Presents: Quest Means Business,” timed to the open of the Asia markets.

PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT
Brad Falchuk has inked a new three-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, where he has been for nearly a decade. Falchuk will continue his duties on FOX‘s Scream Queens, where he serves as showrunner, as well as FX’s American Horror Story and American Crime Story, which he executive produces. In addition, Falchuk will develop new network and cable projects for the studio.
Andy Parker has signed a multi-year overall deal with Universal Cable Productions and will begin work on two soon-to-be-announced projects, one for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and another for an external network. Parker’s notable projects include dramedy Stanistan,which was shot as a pilot for USA Network in 2014, and dark family drama The Disgraces, which was developed at HBO.
Wendi Trilling, former head of comedy at CBS, has launched production company TrillTV and signed a pod deal with Aaron Kaplan‘s Kapital Entertainment (Life In Pieces). Trilling will develop and produce comedy and drama projects for network and cable through TrillTV in association with Kapital.
VH1‘s original movie The Breaks has been greenlit to series, slated to bow in late 2016. The net’s premiere of the film ranked as the #2 cable original movie of 2016 among A18-49, A18-34, women 18-49 and women 18-34. Inspired by the book “The Big Payback” by Dan Charnas, The Breaks is a narrative history of the hip-hop business.
COMING UP
The cast of The Big Bang Theory is heading to TBS late-nighter Conan on Wednesday, February 24 at 11p. Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch will all join Conan O’Brien to celebrate the 200th episode of the CBS mega-hit.
Investigation Discovery‘s third and final installment of mini-series Serial Thriller, The Head Hunter debuts as a one-night television event on Saturday, February 20 at 8p. Based on a true story, the show centers on a California seaside city devastated by a series of missing college students and hitchhikers.
“The Happiest Place on Earth” turns 60 with a glittery celebration. The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60, airs Sunday, February 21 at 8p on ABC. The special takes place from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and throughout locations at Disneyland Park, including Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street U.S.A.; and showcases two displays of technology, the "Paint the Night" Parade and "World of Color – Celebrate!”
Pivot airs the U.S. TV premiere of Codegirl on Wednesday, February 24 at 7p. The documentary centers on teams of young women, from rural areas in Nigeria and India to urban areas in the United States and Brazil, vying to create mobile apps that will help solve societal issues.
World of X Games: Real Ski 2016 airs Saturday, February 20 at 2p on ABC. The all-video, all-urban free skiing video contest is making its debut in the X Games Real Series lineup. Athletes submitted 90-second edits for a shot at X Games gold.

FYI culinary competition Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, will be back for season two on Thursday, March 17 at 8p. The show features a team of child cooking prodigies who challenge executive-level chefs in the kitchen.
A&E‘s Intervention returns Sunday, March 6 at 10p. The docu-series profiles people whose addiction to drugs, alcohol or compulsive behavior has brought them to the brink of destruction.
WE tv‘s Mary, Mary premieres Thursday, March 3 at 9p. In Season 5, look for the title character to learn the gospel truth: everyone is replaceable.
HGTV has renewed six fantasy lifestyle series. Caribbean Life and Island Life were each renewed for season six, while season eight was triggered for Hawaii Life. The network also ordered a third season of Island Hunters, a fifth season of Lakefront Bargain Hunt and new episodes of Beachfront Bargain Hunt.

Cablevision Systems Corporation and CBS Corporation have announced that Cablevision is the first operator to provide access to live authenticated streaming on CBS.com and the CBS App, giving Cablevision’s Optimum TV customers the ability to stream CBS live online and on mobile devices. The live feed, which includes daytime, primetime and late night CBS shows, special events, local news and sports, is available on desktop devices via CBS.com, on iOS and Android mobile devices and tablets through the CBS App, and through Chromecast by casting from their desktop, iOS or Android device. Optimum customers can log in to the service using their Optimum username and password. The App can also be accessed directly from the TV to GO tab on the Optimum App.
History has launched its first social media series, History Now. Throughout 2016, History Now will feature evolving stories with new characters being introduced every month and new content made available nearly every day. Tina Lifford (Parenthood), Dondre Whitfield (Mistresses), Timon Kyle Durrett (Single Ladies) and Nicholas L. Ashe (The Lion King National Tour) have joined the cast of OWN drama Queen Sugar as series regulars. Production begins in Louisiana and Los Angeles this month.
Joel McHale (Community) landed the lead in The Great Indoors. The CBS workplace comedy pilot hails from Tosh.0 co-creator Mike Gibbons.
Rob Benedict is reprising his role as Dean and Sam’s pal, Chuck, in Episode 20 of Supernatural‘s Season 11, reports TVLine. Series airs Wednesdays at 9p on The CW.

Filming has begun on The Collection, a family saga set in the world of French haute couture after the World War II. The eight-part drama, written and created by Oliver Goldstick (Ugly Betty) launches this year on Amazon Prime in the UK and has been co-commissioned internationally by BBC Worldwide, and France Televisions for France 3.
CBC comedies Schitt’s Creek, Mr. D and This Hour Has 22 Minutes have been renewed for 2016-2017. Also returning for its 14th season: Canada’s Rick Mercer Report.

RATINGS
The 58thAnnual Grammy Awards on CBS averaged 24.95 million viewers, the largest audience of any entertainment program this season, according to Nielsen time-adjusted fast affiliate ratings for February 15. The Grammys averaged 7.7 in A18-49, 9.1 in A25-54 and 6.4 in A18-34. It marks the net’s best Monday program performance in viewers, A18-49 and A25-54 since May 16, 2015, the night of the Everybody Loves Raymond‘s finale.
Science Channel‘s Outrageous Acts of Science grabbed 833,000 Total Viewers P2+ on Saturday, February 6 at 9p in L+3 and broke into the network’s Top 10 in Total Viewers P2+ (#10). The “Homemade Hotshots” episode also hit season highs in both A25-54 (345,000) and M25-54 (220,000) and stands as the most watched episode of the series this season.
For the second consecutive week, FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story ranked as television’s #1-rated show in delivery of A18-49 and A18-34 on Tuesday, according to Nielsen Live+3 numbers, with 3.9 million viewers A18-49 (up 104 percent versus Live+SD) and 1.87 million among A18-34 (up 96 percent).
