Hi there,

I have a 1982 CX500TC that is giving me some problems and hope you folks can help get it running. Here is what I know so far. When trying to start, in neutral, engine attempts to fire but only for 2-5 revolutions (on first attempt after sitting). Fuel pressure is at 35psi and pump does run when put in gear, key on and starter button depressed. Pump does cycle for approximately 3 seconds when key is switched on and fuel volume is about half a liter in 1 minute. Fuel System light does go on and then off in a appx 2 second as well as the W light on the ECU. There are no other codes indicated on the ECU. If you turn the key switch on and twist the throttle I can hear a click from the injectors, assuming that is part of a cold start function. If I turn the key on and twist the throttle a few times the engine will do the 2-5 revolutions but wont stay running. If I don't twist the throttle the starter will turn the engine but nothing else happens.

I did notice that there is a small coolant trail coming from the back of the water pump impeller housing, its trailing down the drivers or left side of the bike. I think I'm headed int he right direction in assuming that the engine pickups are back there and could be damaged by engine coolant leaking into that area.

Soooo here are some questions for you CX Guru's

1. Engine pickups send signals to the ecu to run the injector drivers?

2. Possibility of these pickups going bad without setting an ECU code?

3. Test for the pick ups?

4. Diagram for the ECU Harness Pins?

5. Am I all wet on this issue and the Turbo Muffler bearing is more the cause?

Thank you so much for your time and I appreciate any input you have!
