Mercedes-Benz has delivered 92 Sprinter vans to wholesaler Phoenix Healthcare Distribution. The order was a combination of Short 310 CDIs and Medium and Long 313 CDIs, and will join Phoenix’s 400-strong fleet of vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz has also delivered 20 Vito 114 BlueTEC Tourer passenger vans to taxi operator Blueline. The vans are all Euro-6 compliant, and join another 20 Vito models purchased two years ago, as part of Blueline’s overall fleet of 600 vehicles.

Still with Mercedes-Benz, the manufacturer has supplied seven 32-tonne eight-wheel Arocs models to waste recycling specialist Countrystyle. They comprise six 3242K models with compactor bodies by Inco-Mol, of Chesterfield, and a single 3243K with Hyva hook loading equipment.

Renault has won an order for 80 Trafic panel vans for retail warranty specialist Castelan Group. The short wheelbase, low-roof vans with 1.6-litre dCi 120 engines will be used by technicians to visit customers for repairs to furniture and flooring.

Alexander Dennis has completed delivery of 40 new Enviro200 midi buses to McGill’s Buses in Scotland. the 10.8m, 39-seat buses join McGill’s fleet of 400 vehicles. The company has delivered another six Enviro200 midi buses to Whitelaws Coaches in Lanarkshire. One of the 10.8m, 41-seater vehicles has been painted in a special gold livery to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of founders George and Sandra Whitelaw.

Alexander Dennis has also delivered a new Cheetah XL coach to Malbank Coaches in Nantwich. The 36-seat coach runs a 230hp Euro-VI engine and a high level of interior specification.

DAF Trucks has supplied 15 new CF 400 FAD eight-wheel tippers to CEMEX UK for its aggregates and coated road-stone operation. Six of the new units are fitted with low-height passenger door windows (designed by Cheshire-based Astra Vehicle Technologies) to provide its drivers with enhanced visibility of cyclists and other vulnerable road-users.

DAF has also supplied two 18-tonne LF box tail lift trucks to Motiva Group for their client Pure CF. The trucks will be used for furniture delivery to retail clients.

Volvo Trucks has delivered two new FH-500 6×2 tractor units to Ward Recycling in Derbyshire, joining a 60-strong fleet. The trucks are specified with Globetrotter cabs and D13K500 engines with i-Shift automated transmissions.

Volvo Buses has supplied a new B8R SC5 with Sunsundegui bodywork to Hills Coaches of Wolverhampton. The new 38-seat bus joins a fleet consisting of a range of Volvo Buses, and is the seventh specified by Hills with a Sunsundegui body.

Volvo Buses has also delivered a new B11R coach to long-time customer Oxford-based Plastows Coaches. The 53-seat vehicle runs a Euro-VI engine.

Isuzu has supplied a custom 7.5-tonne Forward N75.190 rigid to West MIdlands Ambulance Service for deployment as an incident command vehicle to deal with major and prolonged incidents. The truck features a custom manufactured body with slide-out side pods, which house a conference/briefing room facility, together with seating for up to 9 people. This area is also equipped with a conference table, briefing screens, video and phone conferencing units and eight operational laptop positions. A separate operational area houses two workstations with fixed PCs and peripherals, as well as a 46” interactive touchscreen that is to be used for team briefings.

Schmitz Cargobull reports that it has provided three tipper trailers to Todds Highway Maintenance in Darlington. Two of the light steel half-pipe tippers are 7.2m long and the third is 8.2m. The new tippers also feature a 5mm trough floor and a steel top hinged tail gate, Schmitz Cargobull’s own ROTOS running gear, plus an electronic braking system with rollover stability programme.
