POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Career Development, working closely with the Employer Relations Manager, the Employer Relations Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the Center for Career Development and employers to develop strong partnerships around employment, internships, and experiential learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Aiding in the expansion of the employer base and potential employment, internship, and experiential learning opportunities for BMCC students.

* Assisting in organizing on-campus recruiting, career fairs, and other events for employers and students to connect.

* Processing employer and job registration requests through our career services module.

* Conducting presentations and workshops for students on the career development process and resources.

* Advising students on the career development process and resources with an emphasis on matching student interests and skills with employment, internship, and experiential learning opportunities.

* Assisting in the development of employer recruiting policies and procedures.

* Candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

* Provide assistance with major college-wide events such as commencement, orientation, registration and honor convocation.

* Participate in campus-wide retention and persistence outreach and activities.

* Perform other general administrative duties as assigned by the Director, including reports and other correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

* Strong connection with industry based partners in the lower Manhattan community and around the New York City area.

* Experience with Symplicity or similar career management system.

* Must possess a professional demeanor, strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.

* Experience communicating effectively with employers, faculty, staff, and students.

* Experience in producing professional presentation materials.

* Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and work cooperatively within a team environment.

* Experience working with a culturally diverse population preferred.

* Strong social and organizational skills preferred.

* Be a creative, dynamic individual who can work independently and under general supervision to provide courteous and accurate customer service to all students, visitors and campus community.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media.

* Conducts workshops on resume writing, job search research methods, preparing for job interviews, and other topics

* Administers online job posting and resume search systems

* Coordinates on-campus recruitment programs and interviews; attends on and off-campus meetings with employers

* Maintains systems such as job banks, resource databases, and placement statistics; analyzes data; maintains department web site

* Coordinates career fairs and other career office events; prepares and distributes communications regarding events and programs

* Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary $40,129 - $46,328
